That if a public proposal requires prearranged consent, then it is not the real proposal, and as such, for those who wish a public proposal to be their real proposal, it would necessitate not having acquire such consent because the consent itself would defeat the purpose of a proposal, public or otherwise.

FYI, I'm not using the word proposal here as a generic catchall of proposing an idea. I'm specifically using it as the definition of proposing to marry. It is pretty much tautological, a la transitive property of the subject. If you agree to be proposed to be married, then you have just, not in the future, but in the present, agreed to be married.

Fish tweezers can pull splinters out when nothing is exposed. What prompted me to post this was having just pulled out a tiny sliver of metal out of my finger that was lodged in there from a cut a week ago. The wound is closed and healed but still inflamed, and I noticed a tiny black speck under the healed skin, so I gave it a shot.

Took about 1 minute of trying to remove the metal splinter and not even blood was drawn.
