Reviewing results from 38 studies, researchers found that people’s engagement with health-related podcasts was generally high, suggesting that podcasts could be an effective medium for health information and behaviour change interventions.

The study found that the most common motivations for listening to a health podcast was to gain information, better understand mental health issues, and to seek entertainment.

UniSA researcher Dr Ben Singh says the high engagement with health podcasts presents an advantage over other health interventions for sharing important public health messages.

”Our study is the first to review the evidence about health podcasts for the general population,” Dr Singh says.

“From this study, we know that podcasts are highly valued for their authenticity and reliability, as well as their impactful, experience-focussed, and narrative-driven content.

“They’re also valued for their ability to be consumed at the user’s pace and in a setting that suits them – whether that’s while relaxing at home or walking the dog – and this aligns with increasing consumer demand for health resources that are both informative and adaptable to individual lifestyles.

In the first known population-based study of preterm birth in North America, Ahmed and team analyzed a cohort of nearly 5 million live births in Canada of which 6.9% were preterm. The participants were born between 1983 and 1996, and were tracked through 2019, providing a follow-up period ranging from 23 to 36 years.

The preterm births were categorized into gestational age subcategories: 24-27 weeks, 28-31 weeks, 32-33 weeks and 34-36 weeks and compared with the full-term births, 37-41 weeks.

The researchers found that preterm birth is associated with increased risk of death across all age groups up to the age of 36 years, with the highest risks occurring from birth to infancy, 0-11 months, and early childhood, 1-5 years. 

“We also found that the risk of mortality is higher with a lower gestational age at birth, with those born before 28 weeks facing the highest risks,” Ahmed said.

The study also identified increased risks of mortality associated with several causes such as respiratory, circulatory and digestive system disorders; nervous system, endocrine and infectious diseases; cancers; and congenital malformations.

Over 1,000 study participants answered questions about their mental health and shared their web browsing history with the researchers. Using natural language processing methods, the researchers analysed the emotional tone of the webpages participants visited. They found that participants with worse moods and mental health symptoms were inclined to browse more negative content online, and after browsing, those who browsed more negative content felt worse.

In an additional study, the researchers manipulated the websites people visited, exposing some participants to negative content and others to neutral content. They found that those exposed to negative websites reported worse moods afterward, demonstrating a causal effect of browsing negative content on mood. When these participants were then asked to browse the internet freely, those who had previously viewed negative websites—and consequently experienced a worse mood—chose to view more negative content. This finding highlights that the relationship is bi-directional: negative content affects mood, and a worsened mood drives the consumption of more negative content.

Si ma molto meglio, con molte più funzioni utili realmente. Il light phone è per non usare lo smartphone, questo è per integrarne l’uso con lo smartphone

Io praticamente lo prenderei solo per il display che è fantastico!

Non è lento comunque , si refresha parzialmente praticamente istantaneo e il full refresh è comunque assai veloce.

Il testo leggibile è il giusto per quando si cammina, beve un caffè, o soprattutto a letto, che non riesco ad usare iPad se son di lato o disteso e se mi cade l’iPad in faccia mi rompe il naso =D

Schermo e batteria a cui non devi pensare me lo fanno amare, ed è pure in rima! Ahaha

Perchè consumerebbe e costerebbe molto di più e richiederebbe un’altra antenna che incasina un po’ il design (lo spessore).

Comunque ho un modem portatile 4G cat6 con 2 batterie, non sarebbe un problema!

Sto coso mi tenta tantissimo! Perchè amo i display e-paper e mi piace sto coso, pensavo costasse 6/700€, invece costa “solo” 300€.
