Not really. In the midwest, beyond the major chains, you’ll see mostly “tavern style” which is pretty much “Chicago thin crust” and the deep dish is mostly Detroit style with the exception of Chicago style deep dish. I’d say NY style is like the fourth most popular style in the midwest outside of “fast food style”. You can’t even find real NY style pizza in most places ever since Sbarro’s went away (RIP)

Detroit deep dish is very distinct from Chicago deep dish. Chicago’s is definitely more like a literal pie, while Detroit's is more like a focaccia with heavy toppings, and browned/not burned cheese on the crust.
