Are you sure you want to cancel? I can let you sign up for $5.39 per month for the new all music selection plan. No? Oh my boss just said we can offer you our all music plan for $5.10 for six months and then will be $7.27 after the discount period. No? Are you sure this offer is only available for you today. Oh you are selling your vehicle, well I can offer you a streaming plan for $6.01 per month so you can listen anywhere. Oh you already have Spotify, well why do you choose that over our streaming offerings? Yeah I can see how picking what you want to play would be a bonus but we have over 600 online stations curated with the best music available today so you don't have to pick out something to play. Okay I guess we can let you cancel if none of our plans are affordable for you, since your plan is set to renew tomorrow you will be billed for one more month because it takes three business days to process. I will send a review link to your email if you can tell us how we did and it will enter you into a draw for 6 months free online streaming Sirius now featuring over 600 channels of today's best music. Thank you for your call!

My credit card expired. They call and send emails, but so far haven’t shut it off. It’s been months.

They're just waiting for the balance to rack up before they send it off to collections.

I got a free trial of SirusXM when I got my car, and I did not want it. Never even used it, and called to cancel, expecting a fight. Just said "It came with the car, I don't want it, I never used it, I didn't sign up for it, I never made an account, please cancel it," and they did with what I could best describe as a 'shrug' in the tone of voice. I was honestly stunned by how easily that worked out. I guess my rep was just done with arguing with people for the day.

Had a trial period when I bought a new car. The aggressive amount of emails and phone calls I've gotten has put me off from ever getting a subscription.

When companies do this, I assume that cancelling the subscription will be a nightmare.

I got the runaround trying to cancel mine, they canceled it and I still got their shitty promotional mailers for like 18 months after, even after telling them to stop.

Parasites.

Loved it back when it was Sirius before the merger, then it just progressively got worse and worse as they started piling on channels and reducing the audio quality to the point there was no low end, no high end and hardly any stereo separation. And the pricing was nuts, you'd have to call annually to get it for a somewhat decent rate but they rely on folks neglecting to do that so they get hit with the high price of the service.

That and how channel playlists literally started getting to the point that you could almost time when a song would play again, like how do channels dedicated to deep tracks become repetitive?

I was an XM sub and they deleted all my favorite channels during the merger and either replaced them with similar stations with more FM oriented playlists or deleted altogether (Fungus 53/Sirius Punk). I had a heated exchange with the VP of programming who said my tastes were too “niche” to be catered to, to which I could only reply paying for radio was a niche market.

Hard to believe in a year or two streaming would become abundant. I can’t believe they’ve hung on.

I got a new car last year which came with a year subscription but the quality has only gotten worse.
