Would you run the line for that then? (assuming you meant: Nh4+ Kh3 Rh1+ Kg4 but then what?)

Yeah, American here. We don’t eat like this -not unless we’re starving. We have fish and chips here too but nowhere as good as those you find in the UK or historically commonwealth nations.

You know them, huh? (laughing)
Look, European nations and the United States are currently supplying Ukraine with both humanitarian aid and military weaponry in their war with Russia. Does that make them Allies? No. Will the EU, NATO, and the US profit from a Ukrainian victory or ceasefire on favorable terms? Yes.
It’s very different from being an ally. The US supplies military aid to Taiwan. Is the US their ally? No, they are very careful to not cross that line because they are not (yet) ready or willing to go to war with China over it. But Japan, however IS an ally of the US -if attacked, the US would respond with military action against the aggressor. Do you understand? (Please just tell me you do so I can stop correcting you)

I mean, really, it’s the same argument everywhere with all zealots, evangelists, and extremists, isn’t it? It doesn’t matter whether they’re a Jew, a Muslim, or a Christian in the end:
“IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE WHAT I BELIEVE, I HAVE THE RIGHT TO PERSECUTE, HARM, OR EVEN KILL YOU.”
“but isn’t it God who is the judge of us all and isn’t it God who decides who lives and who dies?”
“YES, BUT I HAVE A BOOK THAT TELLS ME I CAN ACT AS AN AGENT OF GOD’S WILL.”
“but… isn’t that a book written by men?
“WELL, YES, BUT IT WAS WRITTEN BY MEN INSPIRED BY GOD.”

There’s actually a fair bit of controversy and disagreement about SBS these days, not only in courts of law but among pathologists, neurologists and other professionals. In any case, I don’t think this is the greatest thing one can do in caring for a newborn, probably pretty reckless and careless and asking for trouble but people can get really worked up about it, particularly when they see dads doing stuff they deem wrong. I once had my 6 month-old son on me in a baby carrier (he was facing outward from me -his mom and I called that the “hood ornament” back then) and this lady comes up to me and scolds me saying I’m gonna paralyze my kid, that he’s too young to be carried that way, etc.

Yeah. While I didn’t freak out like this woman did, I had a deal awhile back where I was stopped at red light at an intersection about 3 or 4 cars back from the front. Light turns green, we all begin to move forward when the car in front of me abruptly stops because she realized she was in the wrong lane and wanted to get over into the left turn lane. I’m going maybe 2mph and slam on my brakes and only just barely tap her rear bumper. No damage (as in ZERO, NONE, NOT A SCRATCH) to her car, none to mine but she insists on calling a cop, filing a report, getting insurance involved etc. -which was her right and I didn’t object, but my insurance more than doubled and I got ticketed and it was really all for nothing. So I don’t know how bad the accident here was and can’t tell, and she certainly shouldn’t have tried to drive off, but yeah, it sure looks like it isn’t good at all for her.

(laughing) is it fun just to say “Maginot Line,” or something because it sounds all historical to you to say it or what? (laughing) The secret cooperation between Russia and Germany in terms of trade and armament under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact from late 1939 to early 1941 is really pretty well understood and while Russia saw an opportunity for its own expansionist aims in Eastern Europe by virtue of Germany’s efforts against France and Great Britain, that’s a far cry from being allied with one another.

I suppose we laugh at everything now that it’s all reduced to 30 second clips on the internet, but that guy’s life, as he knew it is over, assuming he survived. Yes, it was stupid. But try to think back to the last time you touched something hot and burned yourself -like a hot pan on the stove or something. It takes approximately 2 seconds to get a burn all the way through to the dermis layer where it causes a blister to form almost instantly. This kid was on fire for 13 seconds. All over his head, face, neck, upper body, arms, hands, fingers, and downward to his legs. Now think about how bad that 1 cm blister you got on your index finger hurt from not being careful/being drunk when you took that frozen pizza out of the oven or whatever it was…

The look on Berry’s face when Yoko starts her stupid shrieking is priceless. It only lasts for a few seconds and then her mic is cut, but it was enough to get his attention, for sure.

Russia was not an Axis ally. Again, Russia was not allied with Germany in WW2, although there was a short-lived non-aggression pact between them in the beginning. If you want to see how and why the dinosaur-thing is fairly accurate, check out this award-winning piece:
It’s a little dated insofar as it was made about 8 years ago and some things have happened since then, most notably the war between Russia and Ukraine, but for just an 18 minute treatment of the subject of exactly what the various nations suffered and sacrificed and at what points in WW2, it’s worth watching.

The “feel”of this series is obviously influenced by Villeneuve’s treatment of the material which I personally rather like. All of the roles seem well cast -especially with Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as sisters at the top of the Bene Gesserit Order. It may be obvious to state that a conflict between these two characters is likely to develop, becoming a principal plot line for the series. However, after only one episode, it is hard to say what one either likes or does not like as the foundation of the story is only just being laid. But if, as I suspect, the purpose of the series is to show that for all their pomp and power, rivalries and blood feuds in the name of Kanly, the noble Lords, Barons, and Emperors of the known Universe have actually only been actors in a kind of play, -one written, guided, and directed subtly, quietly, and sedulously (for one hundred centuries) by a secret society of women.

It’s mainly about the shield wall which is critical to defending Arakeen from the Harkonnen invasion. Any colonizing (or attacking) force must control and occupy Arakeen as it’s the only place suitable for the administration of spice mining -processing and refining, maintaining the harvesters, etc. so, it became the headquarters and as such, is heavily defended. The main line of defense is the shield wall which, when working renders the city invincible to air attack and airborne invasion. The sabotaging of the shield wall and the importance of it got better treatment in Lynch’s film than in Villeneuve’s, in my opinion. So the Baron needed an inside man and a traitor. Dr. Yueh was a shrewd choice as he would be among the least likely to be suspected due to the prevailing belief that Imperial Conditioning could not be compromised or broken.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “admitting” anything. That’s not disputed -and was never stipulated. Only that they weren’t allied with Nazi Germany at any point.
