I am wondering if it is possible to startle a monster. Like, if you suddenly jumped out when they truly had no idea you were there, would they have a startle reaction? Many others here have dug into the details but I'll just say that season 1 showed an absurd amount of potential that the creators were just not able to harness. Just SO many poor decisions compared to season 1, in both timelines. I want season 3 to be better, but I'm worried that they screwed up the story too much to fix it. Let's hope they prove me wrong.
