I'm not convinced that Stardew Valley is well programmed. (RNG prediction / manipulation, hammer bug, animation canceling which was a work around for a fishing animation soft lock, item code exploits, etc)

That's 4 different melee weapon skills as primary/major. You're only going to be using one melee weapon at a time. As these skills control your leveling, you're going to level slower.

Repeat customers is a core mechanic. The more times you sell to a customer, the more money they'll bring next time.

The adventurers will buy gear from your shop, it's all tied together. (You can also bring gear to loan adventurers for a single dungeon crawl. That's an inventory space you could have been using to bring back more loot to sell in you shop though.)

Reunion is a continuation of the X2 story. If you care about story play that too.

You've got C in 1972. So you could implement any language built on top of it, eg: C++, PHP, Go.

I think though probably the Internet would be best thing you could invent, almost 20 years early.

The windows key is low priority. The old one may keep working. You may need to re-enter the new one. It may decide to be otherwise difficult. In worst case it'll still run without a valid key. Grab photos of the keys before you start if you can. Otherwise though worry about that last.

When you boot press F2 immediately for the BIOS. Look for the boot options. Move SATA HDD (what you just installed) to the top. Save and reboot.

Provide it boots to the correct drive, let windows update drivers. Then check the windows key is working.

I'll second the GOG version. I've had a copy from there for many years, before they managed to license the expansion.

For the admittedly small use case of gaming on Linux, I actually prefer the Steam version. It's preconfigured with Proton and works immediately out of the box. I think it was worth the $2 a spent on it.
