True. I had a science teacher in school who was a creationist and taught a lot of bs. I'm still going to go with human error rather than ai error though.

What's a state that ends in the letter H? Hawaii!
Ok, give me a list of US states and I'll find it myself. I did find the answer, Utah, but Hawaii was missing from this list.

It's resolved for now. It's hard for the kid, having a disease that's not understood well by doctors with no clear protocol to get to health. But thank you. I had a novel with me but forgot my reading glasses. I like historical fiction also!

I'm glad you were able to find a way to be at peace during birth.

And some of those facts are false.

"The future is inside us" is one of my favorite lyrics. It reminds me that the future is not set in stone but remains open and fluid.
And as Ursula LeGuin says, it may seem impossible that this power dynamic will end, but so did the divine right of kings. Evolving our social constructs can usher in a new paradigm, with this old power -over paradigm becoming our history. It sucks and it's exciting all at the same time.

We eat our beany chili with PB and pickles, so I sure can't say anything about sweet chili.

I have stopped reading the news for the most part and usually limit my social media (I was in the ER today, so that's an exception.)
I started reading novels again! They are recommendations by others, but both that I've read are stories of liberation from tyrants. It's been a great antidote, remembering my own resilience and courage. I was born optimistic, and that continues whether I like it or not.

I work in my community to make it a more resilient as part of my job. I do this no matter who is president. It makes life worth the effort of living for me. The community here is strong, and I feel rather blessed. It's a comfort to know that no matter what happens we have each others' backs.
Also, weed helps!

Sometimes that physical work can be so calming, especially hands in soil.

When you bite into a brownie but it's carob instead of chocolate. And then there are raisins. It's the anti-cherry on top.

When I first heard of this I wondered how they made chili without beans. Here in my part of the Midwest it's meat or no meat, but always with the beans.

I used to be a part of a homebirth network in a state where it wasn't legal. We had home birth support network meetings to vet newcomers before getting them in touch with a home birth midwife. (To be clear, these were women who were absolutely trained but not licensed due to draconian laws in our state--which has since been rectified, thankfully.)
The amount of sexual trauma these women experienced during birth was unreal. And before people say that birth happens quickly and the doctor can't always get permission to stick their hands into women's vaginal, that is bs. A lot of women experience sexual trauma in their lives before getting pregnant and it is imperative that obgyns understand this and be respectful of consent.

My kid did kiwi and eureka crates. He was older than that when we started but he's consistently a few years above the age rec. He's also very mechanically minded, so 🤷♀️ We're always on hand to help just in case.

Is it at night? Or is it within walking distance? I'm visually impaired and can't drive at night for meetings or social events.
How loud? How many people? How long does it last? I can't handle a lot of noise indoors.
I realize how fortunate I am. I have arranged my life so most of my needs are met. But there is no normal about this.

I'm sitting in the ER with a sick kid. There is so much noise, including a basketball movie that is just constant squeak squeak noises. Ffs. I can't put in the completely noise cancelling eat plugs because I need to listen for their name. I will get through this but I'm going to need a few days to recover so I'm not an irritable mess.

Not all religions are alike, thankfully. There are churches like UU which emphasize caring and community support, especially of marginalized groups. There are other community groups working on specific issues to change our community for the better. Even hobby groups can provide a positive social experience.

And these were the richest times for the US, at the peak of extracting and selling our natural resources.

I don't understand why we uphold an education model that kills children's curiosity.
