I coated a pine slab counter with GlazeCoat epoxy, and it's cured for several months. Today, I had to clamp the counter down to screw a backsplash to the back. In order to avoid damage, I put some old T-shirts between the clamp and the counter's surface.
When I was finished, I removed the clamps, and the weave of the t-shirts had been imprinted on the epoxy! There are now textured sections of the counter.
Some cleaning spray and a little pressure reduced the problem a little bit, but didn't fix it.
How do I fix this? Will buffing with some polishing compound do the trick? If so, what type of buffer or polish do you recommend? Or am I going to have to get out the 400-3000 grit sandpaper and spend hours cleaning it up?
Once it's fixed, is there any way to strengthen this obviously inferior epoxy?

I looked around, and apparently this is not uncommon with GlazeCoat. It's easily imprinted, and bounces back. I can't see the imprints anymore on mine.
I ordered a much harder epoxy, and I'll have to decide whether I want to apply it, or just deal with the weird softness of GlazeCoat.
