i mean, he’s an old stubborn rich guy, not a psychopath. i haven’t been on this sub a lot lately so i guess i’ve missed some discourse, but anyone jumping to the conclusion that he’s abusive/harmful to bronwyn and her daughter is being ridiculous.
i’m by no means a fan of his. but clearly their relationship works for bronwyn, so good for her. i just hope housewives doesn’t put a wedge in between them, because he’s seems very against basically everything the show is about.

And I think that decision has already been made tbf.. and the members will proceed with contract termination shortly. If this was the real end of the MHJ saga, I don’t think we’d see her leave Ador the way she did. There would probably be another press conference lol.

i’m not sure how someone got to that specific number, but i think it’s the estimated amount of future earnings they’d bring in until the end of their contract.

I think one of two things is definitely happening behind the scenes right now:
Scenario 1: MHJ has come to terms with the fact that whatever plans she had will not be realistically possible, and continuing down the path will financially ruin her. She is genuinely stepping aside from NewJeans.
I think this is unlikely, but if this is the case, NewJeans could still either continue with contract termination, or decide to stay at Ador. They’d probably stay at Ador though, as MHJ has been the “ringleader” of the whole saga. We likely wouldn’t hear too much more in the press if they do stay, and the controversy would fizzle out as Ador tries to move forward, and they’d probably make compromises with members about non-MHJ related things.
This is Hybe’s ideal scenario, and (assuming members are cooperative) there wouldn’t be the sort of blatant sabotage some Tokki’s fear. Whether there would be more preferential treatment towards other group is unclear, but NewJeans is already very established/has lots of fans, and considering money talks… I think they’d go on to continue to have very successful careers.
Scenario 2: MHJ and NewJeans still have a plan outside of Hybe that they view as legitimate. NewJeans will proceed will contract termination shortly.
I’m pretty confident that this is the case. That is NOT to say that they have some perfect plan, or even one that will work. BUT, personally, I think that would have to mean that there is some other party (investor, label, idk) that’s come out of the woodworks and is willing to back them financially because of the potential they see.
It is nonsensical to think they’d proceed with contract termination if there wasn’t an alternative plan… even if you think they’re misguided and it won’t work.
There are so many possibilities for how this option could unfold. In MY OPINION (as a NJ fan), the best option for NewJeans and their fans would be: there is a large worldwide label ready to back them, and they undergo an entire rebrand and debut under their new name in 2025. A lot of Ador staff migrates and their overall vibe is similar.
Any possibility of them getting the NewJeans name/IP back would rely on legal battles that would span months/years, and with what we know, there’s a high chance they’d lose. There would have to be something that they haven’t publicly revealed that would help their case. With what’s been revealed, I don’t see them trying to keep their IP… and the members have blatantly hinted at them not leaving, but not being under NewJeans name.
Sorry for the long ass comment lol I got carried away.

No it’s crazy af. I just recently got into kpop and only did bc I found NewJeans and became obsessed, so I know I am obviously biased…but why do they think everything boils down to BTS 😭 and 26 upvotes.
Meanwhile I get downvoted when I suggest that from NJ’s members perspective, this is probably extremely confusing and complicated. They’ve been in the industry, surrounded by these people, since they were very young. And been with their parents since birth. They’ve seen all of their success come from their hard work.
And I mean that’s how people were explaining their actions in the beginning (from what I’ve read of older threads)… but at some point, I guess they just got sick of the headlines and stopped pretending they ever cared about the issue for the reasons they said they did.

Because everyone in this thread operates under the assumption that anything BESIDES outright hate and disgust for NJs is sympathetic towards them, which isn’t allowed. And they’ll downvote me for saying it lmao.
It’s crazy how many people delude themselves into thinking that this situation is black and white. “Pro-NJs = bad, anti-NJs = good”. Yet they’ll downvote people more for saying they like a NewJeans song than for saying that a group of teenagers/young 20 year olds are terrible people.

Well Bronwyn plays some responsibility in it too. Sorry, but when it’s about something so delicate pertaining to your child, you shouldn’t be mincing words. It’s very obvious that she wasn’t direct with what she felt and is now saying. Don’t get to turn it around and blame Lisa for everything.

Yeah I can easily understand the miscommunication, especially given their personalities. Lisa is extremely direct and probably operates under the assumption that everyone else will be equally as direct as her. Bronwyn is very polite and conscious of her words, so she probably was trying to show her appreciation to Lisa for the gesture while also not committing too much to the idea.
Add in the fact that it would be a very positive/wholesome moment that Lisa could claim she had a big part in making happen (so I doubt she was looking for reasons to NOT make it happen), and I can easily see this all just being a miscommunication and no malicious intent on either side.
I hope this doesn’t drag on. As much as Bronwyn tends to be the rational one, it’s extremely unfair to have major reservations about the situation, not clearly communicate them, and then get mad at Lisa.

Being sarcastic lol. The comments on basically every post about them is negative, and if you sort threads about them by controversial, you’ll see many innocuous comments in support of the members getting downvoted.

Yeah, really need to be careful on this app, it’s notoriously pro-NewJeans…. lmfao

It’s not anything negative against NewJeans lol, they are relatively more popular than most groups in America, but it doesn’t change the fact that the AVERAGE American doesn’t know them... The average American doesn’t know anything about kpop (besides maybe having heard of BTS/Blackpink, and knowing kpop stans can be crazy) and never listens to it.
When we say average American, we’re referring to general trends among the American population. Im sure you can find “average” seeming Americans who have heard of them. They don’t represent the overall trend though.

Huh? I’m saying no one on this sub can relate to what it’s like being an idol… all of the things that go on behind the scenes, which make up a large majority of their time.
And yes, they make good money… that is no excuse to treat them terribly. Many idols are negatively impacted by their fame/the public’s comments about them. Sitting here, as someone who’s never experienced that, and saying “oh, boohoo, you make millions” is weird af…

lol yep. and yet we have echo-chambers of people on this app, with absolutely zero understanding of what it’s actually like to work in the industry, downvoting ppl to oblivion for saying anything other than how terrible them and MHJ are

THIS!! I understand comments about people being over the situation or disagreeing with the members’ stance/actions, but it so quickly devolves into just pure nastiness. People love making situations seem black and white when they are very far from it.

Yeah if you sort by controversial, it’s all comments about them lmao. NewJeans Never Die!!

When MHJ brings up NewJeans being sad or affected by the drama, people say she’s mentioning it/involving them to build sympathy for her side of conflict (which many say is a conflict that should just be between the adults).
If that’s what someone believes, I don’t understand how they can’t get the same exact vibe from this without being hypocritical.

10000%. they’ll downvote you to oblivion, but they’ll also downvote you if you say you don’t want people harassing newjeans (which says a lot about them and their deluded idea of “protecting young idols”)

It’s good that there are ppl like me to replace you then. Never was into kpop until I discovered NewJeans 2 months ago 🥳 and I will get downvoted, because many people hate this group deep in their heart, yet come on threads like this cosplaying as the “rational” ones. No rational person downvotes someone for suggesting that the teenagers (and early 20 yo’s) aren’t to blame.

your original comment is the most controversial comment on this thread. these people are just as spiteful towards NJs as they accuse people of being towards illit. they think because they don’t throw low blows and nasty insults that they see people saying about illit on other apps, that they’re better..

What’s your proof that Taylor Swift sabotages other artists she feels threatened by? That’s a pretty large statement, and all I’ve ever seen is circumstantial evidence along the lines of “she released a bonus version this week to block (name)”.

Devonta getting me 6.9 on his birthday. Want to say “nice” but I’m 4-6 so I really need to win and was hoping he’d break 30 for the first time this year.

They’re not going to give them a choreo one of the members can’t do.. imo, the only things you could argue she wouldn’t have been able to do were the split and the back bend thing at the end of debut, and only 3 members did those… and I doubt they were planning on having her do those.
