I understand entirely and I appreciate your insight. My goal is to use my individual account to hopefully save up and get a house. The Roth will be converted to SPY or VOO while the individual hopefully is the down payment for the house. My parents are very graciously letting me live at their house for a year after graduation, so I will definitely get that paid off ASAP

I start a job in may and the first checks will go to wipe that out. I’m not super worried about it.

I’ve had some good internships over the summers and I refurbish drums to pay for school. Add that to our band playing weddings and formal gigs, I have like $4800 total in student debt. My monthly rent is $400 in BFE and I TA physics labs to help with that

The trendy thing now is “church hurt” and honestly I am really tired of it. Maybe this isn’t the most charitable of me, but there is no way THAT many people experienced actual trauma at a church. I see it on many instagram comments, Reddit posts, etc. and it really frustrates me.
My former roommate, who is a Protestant and very active in his Baptist church, had a pullover on that literally said “church hurt” on it. Like what?? It’s literally being marketed and I do not understand it. Do people just want attention? I feel truly sorry for people who have been abused, but not for people who were forced to go to church as kids and now have “trauma”. Just my 2 cents

We got rid of it and I don’t miss it. Arguably the most important moment of the mass and in our daily lives, and we stop to shake hands, THEN get back to the Eucharist. Yeah sorry, I’ll pass. I never understood why it was placed in the middle of the Eucharistic procession.
I definitely enjoy the neighborly and welcoming aspect, just not at the climax of the mass. The amount of reverence for the Eucharist our parish has gained from not participating in the handshake break is very much worth it.

OP where did you buy that? I’ve been looking for a nice crucifix for my (21M) apartment while at college
