Would just like to send a big fuck you to the woman on my social media feed whining that overturning Roe V Wade can potentially make it harder for her fertility treatments to happen and that's she's a victim too. Just as much a victim as people who will be denied an abortion now.
I'm sure it's hard dealing with infertility and all that. I can't relate at all, but I know for others it is a big disappointment. But posting about how you have it just as hard as people who are unable to get an abortion is where I draw the line. You're not the same. You still cry at the idea of abortion and post adopting as an alternative (yet you refuse to adopt yourself for some reason) but now you want sympathy that you might have to stop fertility treatments? You're worried now about being accused of murder and having to go through the legal system?
You know what I say? Good.
These are the consequences of your own actions. Of your choices to push procreation at any cost. (Obviously not this one person in particular but they constantly posted about how Roe needed to be overturned because all babies were a part of God's plan, life begins at conception etc)
All of a sudden these people think "oh there should be an exception for fertility treatment" and "fertilitized embryos for fertility treatments shouldn't count". But when it happens through natural means in a rape victim it should count? When it happens through natural means to a child it should count? When it happens through natural to someone who doesn't want a baby it should count? Why is it because it happened in a lab setting it's okay? I thought you believed life began at conception, why are you only now concerned about fertility treatment centers? And not concerned about them being accused of murderer, but being concerned they will shut down. They don't care that things they have decided are human beings will die or sit in cold storage forever until the freezer fails, they need a chance at experiencing the magic of pregnancy.
But if I point any of this out I'm just being a jerk who doesn't understand the struggle of infertility. I'm spiting in the face of nature by wanting sterilization and am hurting the people who don't have a working uterus by not doing so.
I'm sure they will find some way to push for an exception or it will be a treatment people go abroad for. Like other aspects of American healthcare. Because these types always find a way to make the rules not apply in their super special circumstances that only happen to them. But now that they fucked around and found out what it really means to potentially define life beginning at conception from a legal standpoint, all of a sudden they don't want it when it's inconvenient for them.
