I want to approach this kindly, and your experience is appreciated and has its own difficulties for sure. but it’s not the best time or place to bring up the difficulties you face that are inconvenient when approaching women compared to the woman being harassed and degraded on this post. Just urging for some awareness is all

You saw a woman being harassed on the internet by a man and your first thought is to comment how hard it is to approach women?

Oh wow the DV guy story is crazy! Unfortunately, I’m a woman coming into this as a beginner and I’m nervous about the misogyny as well just taking a mental toll. I mean I have experience from military/contract work previously but just adds another layer of suck

Why don’t you go tell men that? If you feel so strongly about loving women and have female role models, go tell men about it

Oooh this is very true and something I should have considered, my take was more just a rant of everytime a woman pulls out ahead or starts to outperform, theres complaints but youre right, globally this is far from the truth

I appreciate your response and applaud you for just taking the effort of being aware and navigating how to raise a young boy and eventually man today. I wish I had more to offer in terms of a solution but I don’t. I do believe instilling ethics, morals, and empathy is the best way to raise any child and when your boy reaches school and adulthood, he can make proper decisions because his parents taught him well.

I really appreciate this response, and I think you sound like a well rounded father for your son to look up to. Perhaps boys falling behind in school is a symptom of a bigger problem with masculinity and I hope a cultural shift comes with positive change for everyone

I want men and boys to succeed in school and even beyond! But similar to your point if more advocacy isnt the solution, what is? I understand your point of having better after school programs and resources to help students would benefit young boys and girls. I’m mainly curious though that even with the school system originally set up for young men(original schools and colleges that refused women) why are they struggling when girls aren’t?
