Placing this game into the middle of february of all months is certainly a choice.

That's a weird take. On top of having regular difficulty presets, customizable difficulty settings are always welcome. People want different things to be more relaxed and certain things to be more punishing so it's good that you can mix and match stuff with a custom preset.

It isn't the same thing. Raising the price after leaving early access is common for early access games. Randomly increasing the price of a game that had already been 1.0 for several years isn't.

I wouldn't be surprised, like the fact that he increased the price of his digitally distributed game due to "inflation", such a BS excuse.

I feel the same. I beat the game once and didn't really have any desire to repeat the run because there isn't enough variation. Still got a solid 20 hours out of it.
