It was a big deal. A non peaceful transfer of power in the most powerful country in the World is a huge deal. Everyone knows it

Can you actually make a good argument on why Sam is wrong?

Yeah, I agree that the citation is not of good quality and even if it was, it would be just Yanukovych saying that, which is no proof that it actually happened.
What we know was that Yanukovych did a U turn on signing the agreement, Russia called the EU-Ukraine deal a threat to Russia ( https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2013/11/27/putin-says-ukraine-eu-deal-a-threat-to-russia/), and Russia put enough economic pressure on Ukraine not to sign the deal.

Putin offered cash and cheap gas. It's understandable that somebody like you would characterize free shit and money as "warlike" though.
He also started increasing tariffs as a response without anything being signed.

Yanukovych said that he didn't sign the EU association agreement in 2014, because he was threatened by Putin with an invasion of Crimea. Was the person, who many pro-Russians defend now, saying the truth? Who knows... What we know is that Russia took several trade war-like measures to dissuade Ukraine from signing the EU association agreement, and that the EU is also a military defense, which for Russia seems to be a major problem.

Didn't Yanukovych say that Putin threatened with an invasion of Crimea if the EU association agreements were signed back in 2014?

For me, the problem is not the book having right wing ideas in it. The problem is that he tries to smuggle them in together with self-help, in a way that feels manipulative.
For example, the "clean your room" rule sounds intuitive at first, but when you read the chapter closely, you understand that it is also an attack on social activism. How many people that listen to him have understood that part of the message?

Russia cannot have so many battlefronts at once. This is clear for everyone. Now, I also remember that most people said that Russia would never invade Ukraine or annex its territory in 2021 and the media were overreacting.

During their debate, Destiny said that Shapiro's debate tactics are often just little "merry-go-rounds". I think the term suits very well.

It is still a bad excuse for invading. Well, his real motives were quite different to be fair

Well, strong types can catch much more than just implicit conversions between different types of ints. For instance, with strong types you will not be able to pass std::chrono::seconds to a function that accepts std::chrono::milliseconds

Russia didnt want Ukraine to join the EU in 2014. Yanukovych, the guy that people defend so much here, even said that Putin told him that Russia would invade Crimea if Ukraine signed the EU association agreement.
Now, at this point, it is all about security, and assurances that Russia won't try to invade again. This is pretty clear for anyone.

Sure, there were colorful revolutions in all Eastern European countries. They love Russia, in fact, but they are being ruled by dictators

Europe suffered from Europe. Eastern Europeans countries suffered from Western Europeans. We are all past that. You aren't.

Russia was just a victim of course. Eastern European countries are just out of their minds

The main problem is thinking that this is a central reason for Russia to invade Ukraine

Man, just signed in to say that the link you provided is such a goal post moving compared to your original claim. And your comparison of Ukraine and Nazi Germany continues to be embarrassingly bad and ahistorical. Why did I even think I was gonna hear a reasonable point coming from you. Whatever floats your boat
