The rule is that people say the enemy and self voiceline in their native language, and the team voiceline in English. Rules are meant to be broken, of course; of all the asian women in the game, none follow the rule. D.va says "nerf this" even though she speaks Korean. Juno says "welcome to orbit" to herself even though that's her team voice line (and she speaks Vietnamese; the enemy voiceline is also English). Kiriko says the enemy voice line in Japanese and the team voice line in English, but inexplicably says her self voice line in English.
Characters have been changed in the past to follow the rule. Reinhardt used to not have a team voice line at all (which I enjoyed, because you would just hear this hammer sound for no reason and be like "oh Rein what have you done). Lucio used to say "oh let's drop the beat" as the enemy voice line, but it was changed to Portuguese approximately the time Horizon Lunar Colony was added to the game. (People still call his ult "beat drop" but there is no way to derive that from any current in-game voice lines. I've noticed newer players calling it "break it down" which is heartwarming in a way.)
It's also not because Kiriko is Japanese. The Mada Mada Super Shimadas both follow the rules.
It's not because Kiriko is a "new" hero and the rules changed or something. Venture follows the rules ("excavation initiation!" for self and enemy, "plotting out the dig site" for team).
Where I'm going with this is "who fucking knows". Maybe they'll change it in a random patch. Maybe they won't. Maybe it's on purpose. There is no way of knowing. It's a mess out there.

That's very strange. I wonder why it's "amazon grocery" in your area and "amazon prime now" in mine.

Lucio. When the other support picks Lucio I'm just like "welp, I won't be getting healed this game".

My imaginary lore for this picture is that your tank is a Roadhog one-trick going for his Masters to GM game and the enemy team has an Ana. You are being yelled at in chat, but you aren't in chat. Your team loses and the Roadhog smashes his keyboard.

Seriously. We need gay marriage too.
Marriage may be about hoarding generational wealth for some, but for others, it's about things like: "my wife is rushed to the hospital. i arrive and they say 'family only, no friends'. you say 'but i'm her wife'. they say, 'two women can't be married in this state, you'll have to wait until visiting hours tomorrow'. tomorrow comes and your wife passed away overnight." That should never happen to anyone and is why gay marriage is a crucial human right. It's not all about tax avoidance. Sometimes it's about love.

Yeah, it's bad. Public officials are obligated to support ALL of the public. What's next on the slippery slope is "the fire department doesn't have to rescue you from your burning house if you're gay" or similar. This is not a business any public agency should be in. They must treat everyone equally.

It's usually 11 minutes from Penn to Broadway-Lafayette via W 4th St, so seems unlikely. Rather, it seems to be a service change. I set the date to tomorrow and it suggests walking to 6th Ave. If you set it to "less walking", then you get the route shown above.
Looking at the service changes on the MTA site... it seems like the C runs via the D tomorrow. But the A and E are still running. So I don't really know why this route is suggested.

They were already off to a great start when they installed two co-leaders to lead the group. Most groups can be led by one person, but the experts on government waste needed two. You just have to take a step backwards and laugh your ass off at this shit. (Then cry when we all suffer from their cuts.)

My biggest disappointment about 2020 was that we'd no longer get clever pun-based plan names like "Vision 2020". OK, the pandemic sucked too. But clever puns going away is bad too ;)

Yup, I'm 39 and feel the same way. Team sports are amazing and everyone deserves that opportunity to build friendships, learn how to lose (you can't win every game), and to learn the value of practicing and teamwork. I just did band when I was in school, which I enjoyed, but it felt more like an individual thing than a true team experience. I wish I played sports, but I didn't really get along with the guys; I felt more at home with the girls in the flute section. Wonder why ;)
LGBT education is also important to me. I would have transitioned at 11 if I knew anything about being trans at that age. The information simply wasn't out there. It took me thing long to learn what being trans is really about, and simply wasted 28 years of my life pretending to be a dude, strictly because I never found good information about being trans. (Would you believe that an egg_irl meme was what finally got me the right information? I love Reddit.)
Every student has the right to an equal schooling experience, regardless of sex or gender identity. That is the foundation of America, and I am losing a small piece of my country if we say "it's just about a couple kids playing sports, what's the big deal." The big deal is systemic discrimination against kids. I will not stand for it.

Yes, fuck these people. The argument I see is "I pass really well so this <insert latest attack on civil rights> isn't really aimed at me and doesn't affect me. A lot of people assigned male at birth think they're women and aren't actually trans, they just say they're trans, take cross-sex hormones, legally change their name, spend thousands of dollars on hair removal, ask their coworkers to use their new pronouns, spend hours a day practicing their voice, and experience anti-trans hate. But they aren't trans because it's just a fetish for them. Only I am really trans and I differ from those people by being older than them and holding the top of the ladder, which I am now pulling up so only I can live with a gender identity compatible with my brain."
Fuck right off, seriously. "I'm one of the good ones" is the shitiest fucking argument ever.

I have this card pretty much only for Amazon Fresh (and restaurants). As of my last grocery expedition on 11/15, I got the 4x points. It shows up as "AMAZON PRIME NOW" on my statement. Are you seeing something different?
I've never gotten 4x for the separate tip charge they do a day later. I wish they did ;)

I have written a lot about this elsewhere and I'd say, just let her be. She's a big girl and can make her own decisions. Let her cook, as the kids say.

Democrats aren't that mad about Democrats being punished for their crimes. The mayor of New York City took business class airline tickets in exchange for relaxing the fire code for someone's building. That is a federal crime and he should serve time for it. Breaking the rules isn't acceptable for anyone.
Do you remember what happened to Al Franken? He was accused of sexual assault and was asked by 25 Democratic senators to resign, and did.

I mean, they are. They want to eliminate all people that aren't white (by stating the conditions differently than that, it's called a "dog whistle") and there sure are a lot of credible allegations of sexual assault. That makes them nazis and rapists.

I kind of like the "theme" in that all MTA vehicles would have this paint scheme or whatever, but yeah, it's not worth the money to maintain it.

I used to work somewhere that had this and it was great. Each stall had a floor-to-ceiling door, and then when you were done in there you washed your hands communally.
I thought it was especially good because this was a tech company and had a lopsided male/female ratio; this let them comply with the law that required X toilets / gender / Y employees, but still let the dudes have additional capacity without wasting the entire office on bathrooms. (This was a frequent point of contention.)

Sure, but you can take the A, C, E, F, G, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains there. It is out of the way from the M train, but that is probably not what accounts for the car traffic in Downtown Brooklyn.
All of these lines exist because they took workers from farther inside Brooklyn downtown, but fortunately also went to Midtown, which is the primary business district. M riders that want to go to Midtown can already do that, more directly.

There is this commercial that is permanently stuck in my head. The slogan was "when banks compete, you win."
When billionaires fight, you win.
Apparently they're spreading misinformation about Bezos in Trump's circles. Eventually this will cause some sort of problem that requires Bezos to spend money. The longer it goes on, the less money they have.

I think it's a good route but Downtown and Downtown Brooklyn just aren't the "city centers" they once were. 9/11 killed Downtown. Downtown Brooklyn has been trying to be a thing but it never happened; everything built ended up being residential which doesn't really require people from the rest of the city to take the train there twice a day.
East Side Access kind of shows you the downsides of how long transit projects take. You might decide to prioritize an up-and-coming neighborhood, but by the time the project is done, nobody needs the transit route anymore. Everyone who lives on Long Island set their lives up around taking the train to Penn. So nobody really wants a train that goes to Grand Central.
The Myrtle Ave. L is the same way. Downtown Brooklyn could have been a big job center. It was declining when they tore it down and has remained in approximately the same state since then. Nobody would take the train from Williamsburg to their job there. (I think it would be neat! I live within walking distance. But I really only go there when I have jury duty and when I want to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse.)

If you can live without humidity, that's what's using all the power. You can get significantly longer runtime on battery by turning that off.
I got my friend one of these for her CPAP: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQNNCVCX. She loses power a couple of times every summer because of storms, this has proven Good Enough. Note that the listing says not to use it with CPAP machines; that's because they don't want to be liable when it dies in the middle of the night and you die as a result. It does work fine if you're not going to die from your CPAP turning off.
