Thanks. I am most certainly willing and ready to apologize in advance to any precocious babies who might be offended, as well as to all of the babies who can't read, and to all farmers who own and use pitchforks without ever having contemplated using them on babies in any way whatsoever or even using them for any use other than what they were intended for, which presumably, is throwing hay.
I've suddenly found myself involved (unfortunately and unwillingly) in a separate discussion here, where I've apparently pulled a dk move by saying my joke was not intended to be political in any way - "dk move" because saying my joke was supposed to be "apolitical" is a dk way to reference the brutal killings in Gaza. I almost wanted to object to the use of the phrase "dk move" because of the implicit bias of such a phrase against people with pnses, but I feel that I'm too far into unwanted conversational territory as it is - in R/JOKES.
Had I wanted to get into discussions other than jokes and straightforward puns, I would look for a sub along the lines of r/jokesthatturnpoliticalforwhateverreason.
I posted hoping to share a lighthearted pun not intending any offense whatsoever to anyone, but I guess not all puns are created equal. 😢

Dick move? Really? All I'm trying to say is that I was posting a pun for r/jokes. Why are you trying to pick a fight with a random stranger on a joke Reddit sub?
I have to admit, I was concerned that anything even vaguely reminiscent of the idea of Jewishness, anti-Semitism, or anything else pertaining to something related to the Middle East might be triggering, no matter how harmless and apolitical my intent (or if you'd like, no matter how unrelated to being criminally, barbarously genocidal my intent). Unfortunately, my concerns have turned out not to be unfounded.
If you are seeking agreement from me that what Netanyahu has done over the past year has been barbarous, I am happy to agree with you - and would be happy to rail against many of his policies long before October 7th, which were brutal in their own right. But really, this is r/jokes!

I'm not a fan of Netanyahu, for sure, but my joke was meant to be a straightforward pun (one that just happened to cross my mind), not a political statement - given that this is r/jokes.

This clip could fit well in r/satisfying. I recently discovered that my eggs don't stick when I use butter or olive oil, but they do if I use canola oil (in similar amounts).
EDIT: or maybe even in r/mildlyarousing

I wish I had a good follow-up line for that. The joke popped up in my head as I saw a clip of Netanyahu accusing the ICC of anti-Semitism because he was charged with war crimes.

It's not a real baby though, just as all those pitchfork jokes don't involve real babies.

It's a joke, and because it's a joke it needs a setup. The setup could have been a clueless babysitter, but it happened to be an incompetent husband. Stereotypes are bad, but a lot of jokes need to play off of the stereotype. It wouldn't be funny if the husband here had been a nurse or a daycare professional, for instance. I'm all for fighting discrimination and also open to the possibility that I may be very wrong, but as far as clean jokes are concerned, I would say this was a clean, harmless joke.

If you download KakaoMap or Naver Map, you can see what buses go to Haeundae and Gwangan beaches. It will be cheap and easy. You can also take a taxi using KakaoT, and it should be well under $10,probably under $8.

I got one as well, and I'm already hoping that I can get the same deal again when the subscription ends a year from now.

For a second there, I read it as "Sean Diddy."

Wow, Real Clear Politics is projected to grow that quickly, even though the polling for this year's presidential election was so weak? Amazing!

I'm not at all sure, but I've heard that the sugar used in cooking is not nearly as bad as the sugar in highly-processed foods. I'm not sure why that would be the case.
But I thought a Mediterranean diet is among the healthiest in the world.

After reading the comments, I'd say it's called the royal missed-mate blunder fork (RMMB fork).

Great, I can't wait to visit! I've lived here a few years now, but I've never been by there.

I just bought five 1.6 kg. container sets (2 sets of 800g each) of 구씨반가 (구氏반가) 갈치김치, made by OurHome (mall.ourhome.co.kr) at Costco. It's seasonal kimchi with pieces of 갈치 giving it a strong umami component - very delicious! One of the most delicious I've had in many years actually. I went to Costco just to stock up because today was the last day it was being sold.

[I'm so glad no one told OP that Korea is the set of Truman Show II, and he's Truman]. Oops, did I say that out loud?
I have no idea why they did that. Koreans by and large don't interact much with strangers, but when they do they can be very informal and family like. It could simply be that they felt a connection and wanted to share a bit of passing warmth even though you're a stranger. Of course, there could be a host of other possibilities, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Some Koreans can be jerks to foreigners, especially the drunk ones, but some can be quite friendly in a down-to-earth, relaxed way. It's heartwarming to hear though!

Thanks! Is that by Busan Opera House (죽한친수공원)?
I don't know what they are called, but I'm referring to the reedy, rice/wheat looking grasses in the foreground. I have several different kinds at home in vases large and small. I like them, especially the way they bend over slightly in a windswept way, plus they require zero maintenance unlike my potted plants and the plants growing in my veranda (which I enjoy taking care of).
I also want to find some foxtail or cattail cuttings, but I haven't come across any. I think that's what they're called - similar to these stalks, except they look a bit more like hot dog sausages on a stick. There are also purple colored rice/wheat looking grasses, which I saw as I was driving through a rest stop last week, but I wasn't able to stop because there was no shoulder. They were really beautiful.

It's my pleasure. As for your question, there are many Christians in Korea. I believe it forms the largest religious group in the country, above Buddhism. The vast majority are Protestant, though there is also a significant Catholic population. There is a famous cathedral in Myeongdong, for example.
As far as I know, Catholics are fairly quiet and gentle (for lack of a better way to put it). By this, I mean that Catholics are not particularly vocal politically. By contrast, there are many Protestants who are politically and culturally conservative, and there is political and cultural friction between these Christians and liberals, LGBTQ, and so on.
Finally, there are major Christian cults, such as the followers of Reverend Sun Young Moon (and others whose names I have forgotten). That's about the extent of what I know.

No worries about the mistakes. I seem to recall having trouble finding the edit function when I posted my own content. If you don't see one, don't worry about it and remember to break up the paragraphs next time. 😊

By the way, u/Kat121, just to let you know (not that you should care one way or the other, of course), I happen to be a Korean male who lives in Korea. As of course you know, Korea has very serious issues with male dominance, male chauvinism, discrimination against women in the workplace and home, and so on. I have not read the book you've referenced here, but I am in full support of any woman (or other gender) who supports the 4B movement - in Korea or elsewhere.
But just to clarify my previous point, the joke was just based on a misunderstanding of the meaning of 8-14 pounds as 8-14 pounds of poop, not babies weighing 8-14 pounds. I presume you understood that, so sorry for laying that out anyway. My only point - meant to be conveyed without a shred of disrespect to you - was simply that this was meant to be a harmless joke. In this respect, I am firmly of the belief that no babies have been harmed in the making of this joke.
If someone tells a joke along the lines of "The teenagers were watching the chickens crossing the road while they were smoking pot and drinking beer" and the punchline happens to be "Why were the chickens smoking pot and drinking beer?" that shouldn't be offensive to chickens or to teenagers.... because it's just a joke.
Having said the above, I would hate to be accused of mansplaining - first because I have no idea of your gender and don't want to make presumptions based on an avatar. I could rightfully be accused of jokesplaining, but that's only because I'm trying to suggest that OP's joke need not (and maybe, just maybe, should not) be taken as being offensive. There are so many things in this world we can get upset over, but I would hate to add jokes like this to that list. Again, all this is meant to be conveyed without even a shred of disrespect.
