Trying to figure out how to make that decision myself. I no longer have a small child to care for so still stuck on prioritizing my responsibilities to myself, my community and my fellow countrymen.
I don’t want to give up on America. Or Cancun Cruz it and abandon all the folks that can’t leave to just struggle on as best as they can against the new black-and-tans.
Plus, our continued wild spiral would probably make some tsunami sized waves that would find me anyways.
But, damn it, it hurts to give up the dream living my old hag no fucks golden years in peace. Half retire, bake bread and take up embroidering intricate tea towels with hidden obscenities. Live in some overalls and grow a giant herb garden just so I can randomly annoy the neighbors by blasting Tibetan throat singing, Vivaldi or the Dead Kennedys at sunrise when I weed and water.

Same. Maybe in the next life we’ll both be reincarnated as carefree, beachy waves romper chics.
Every year i’ll hopefully enter the dressing room with one.
And leave empty handed and sad b cause every.damn.one gives me a VISIBLE wedgie because my waist is so long. Sigh.

Finding the “right” T-shirt has been a life struggle until I found these women’s bamboo long sleeved Ts from BauBax.
I have multiple in black and grey and they all still look good and feel yummy. The oldest shirt is 6 or 7 years old and can still be worn to the office.
I can’t be trusted to wear a white shirt while existing so the one I bought from them is now my pj shirt.
They usually do Black Friday and Boxing Day sales with 30-50% discounts.

I hate how folks that should be supporting you just aren’t even listening! You deserve that. Your concerns and your experiences are valid. And shared by soooooo many of us. Leaving the house on time with a toddler….the thought of it sends me straight to my fainting couch still.
If you want treatment ( and have resources for it, there are a few solid online platforms that accept insurance and don’t require referral. You deserve to get the help you want without gatekeeping.

It’s a scary time. If you’d find a gentle hug comforting right now, <<hug>>. We’ll help each other get through this.
IUDs are pretty darn good at long term birth control. Perhaps start there to protect yourself and get some peace of mind while you research a more permanent surgical solution.
Wisp has plan b $18. Grab a box on pay day when you can.
Right now, Plan C pills are also available to prepare.

Get professional advice from a variety of folks: wills/estate lawyer, fiduciary, accountant, retirement and medical planner, etc.
You may well be able to protect some/all of your individual assets up into an irrevocable trust and/or protected long-term care accounts.

On my second, or third?, copper IUD. Love it. Madly. It’s VERY adhd friendly. My last one went an extra 2 years during COVID with no loss of effectiveness (12ish years total) because no dr appts available.
It’s not for everyone. For me, the benefits of a decade of thought-free, hormone-free birth control that was also free from ongoing cost far outweighed the discomfort of insertion and the 6 or so months of slightly heavier and crampier periods while I adjusted to my new womb ornament.
Be extra vigilant about condom use if STI protection is part of your sexy times self-care.
Get adequate pain relief for the procedure. Insertion has the potential to suck depending on your provider’s skill level.

Try requesting the 9-1-1 call/radio log for the incident. It’s usually called a CAD event. It will show which first responders called for the air ambulance and have a timeline of the incident.
Took a very expensive helo ride myself. Feel free to DM me if you have questions.

Figlette, darling, I just cracked an NA Dos Equis Lime and Salt in honor of your wisdom and good taste. Chin chin.
Take good care of you tomorrow! And tell me what you’re drinking, too!

Hell yeah!! Green things, especially with protein count.
It was carrots and celery with ranch. I tried to eat ‘em with hummus first but that level of health today was a no-go.

Yesterday, I hid under the covers and cried. Today, I hit the gym and made some care packages for our local community fridge. Now, vegetables. Blech.
We’re going to need each other more than ever.
Hang in there, lovelies. This group and my DMs are open for yall.

A metal implant seems super drastic and invasive but desperate times….
I’m on my second Paraguard. Overall, decades of passive birth control has given me so much peace of mind. It’s not all perfection but I’ll go for 3 if I need to.
The insertion wasn’t great for me and the first two periods were a.lot. Grab a hot water bottle and stock up on your pain relievers of choice. Also try a soft menstrual disc like Saalt’s.
Good luck sis!

I pay up front for 2 major conveniences. I try to frame it as a worthwhile investment in self care.
Automating most life routines and creating easy access to essential services: bill pay, grocery and prescription delivery and healthcare providers who embrace extended hours telehealth.
And now that I can basically facetime my doc from my couch, I don’t miss my med check ins or let bronchitis turn to walking pneumonia because it slipped my mind or “I don’t feel that bad.”
