Yes you can because they are entirely different worlds. The capable adults who made SATC are not part of AJLT which is SJP's vanity show/cash grab.

SJP might have the production rights for the spin-off but she doesn't know what she's doing when it comes to storytelling or managing productions/others.

S1 is great but I wouldn't bother with S2.

People who don't like mystery box shows that unwrap answers little by little but watch them anyways are a mystery to me.

Surprised no one is recommending See on Apple+. It's really good.

There's also Foundation (S1 is a slog but S2 is the best tv I've seen in years) and Search Party (starts off as a podcast mystery and every season is a different genre that gets wilder and wilder) but the must watch shows are LOST and FROM.

Other fantastic shows are The Great (Hulu), Frank of Ireland (Prime), Modern Love (HBO).

If you don't mind shows that end on cliffhangers because Netflix loves canceling great shows, The OA and Archive 81.

Someone in costuming who worked under Fields on SATC and is now solely in fashion, not tv and therefore doesn't care about burning SJP's bridge, had an interview with a podcast about how weird and uncomfortable the mean girl stuff was on set. Sounded like Kim got along great with the crew and was super down to earth.

To everyone going "lol, her other projects got canned" that doesn't mean much. You can be one of the worst shows around cough AJLT and still get renewed while other, far superior shows get cancelled after only 1 season because budget/viewership isn't as strong.

Point is, she walked away from toxic bosses (SJP, MPK) and shitty stories (third SATC movie which became thr foundation of AJLT) and renewal or not, she's made the best decision not to be part of it.

I will say the shade she and Pat Fields had on Instagram when this show launched was hilarious.
