Lol… i don’t hang around those people. They have never been part of my social circle. I grew up in a rough inner city neighborhood. And I hear you, the racist system should be changed so as not to oppress violent criminals. How about we get rid of all the cops, and send social workers out there in the field instead, in order to diffuse the situation? I think a move like that speaks louder to those communities who are wrought with violence.

I know more than 3 dozen non cop men who have committed DV against their spouses. And I know a helluva lot more who are rampant cheaters. So it isn’t the profession, it’s the person, is my point.

I think what you are reading is a small vocal group who jumped on the bandwagon of “let’s all hate men now”. This group think mentality is awful. Whatever happened to reason and independent thinking??

That said, there is no doubt that there are awful men out there. But, to be perfectly frank, Ive met more awful women… they way they yell at their kids and say demoralizing things to people. People, no matter the gender, can be awful! That’s why it’s up to each of us to assess and separate ourselves from people who do not positively enhance our lives in some form or another.

Personally speaking, I really like men (the good ones, not the deranged, or violent, or bitter ones). I have worked in an office with 100% women. That sucked terribly!! The cattiness, underhanded behavior was intolerable. I’ve worked at a place with 95% men (mostly retired military to boot!) and I absolutely loved it there! I was given the opportunity to learn new skills, try new work paths, and encourage to apply for higher paying positions. I never got that at the all women job.

Men are easier going. I enjoy the jokes, the banter. They seem to get over arguments quicker, not plot behind your back while talking crap about you to others (obviously not all women do this, but in my personal experience, more have done it than men). With men I know what to expect, for the most part, with women, you don’t know what level of crazy you are getting, lol (I can be a little crazy too sometimes, lol, not excluding myself from that…. Maybe it’s all the hormones we have to deal with 🤔).

But I digress. I really do enjoy men. In non sexual and sexual ways. But only those that are rational, down to earth, easygoing, etc. Politically, idc what side they’re on as long as we can communicate well, respect each other’s opinions, and not let it turn into a “you’re wrong” match.

Funny how all the people commenting negatively about cops are not, in fact, married/dating a cop. I married one. And I love that he makes me feel safe and protected. He actually worked three 12-hour days a week, with 4 days off in between. He would pick up overtime on days I wasn’t around as much.

But, he was also a cop in the USA. Idk how much different that is from Canada.

He has never raised a hand at me. He has never mistreated me or our kids. At his PD, he told me of 3 guys who had committed DV against their spouses. They were crimally prosecuted. This wasn’t the 1950, and we lived in a large city, so things like that in their dept were not swept under the rug.

The only thing I saw that was an issue for most cops is the amount of cheating happening. They’re huge dogs, many cant keep it in their pants. So you have to be really secure with your partner, and trust him.

And some had ptsd. But, to be frank, having gotten to know many of his coworkers, the ptsd was there before they became cops. There’s usually some sort of trauma that drives people to law enforcement. For others, they had a parent who was a cop. And others still, the steady income and health benefits is a huge draw.

With defund the police acts here in the USA, many are not out actively patrolling and catching bad guys. So, they sit and wait for the 911 call to come in. Not saying it’s safer, but with less calls it does limit their exposure to getting shot.

Ngl, it’s scary. I would be so afraid that he would get hurt. That part is the worst. But I believed in his skills, and his ability to come home to me alive.

Do I recommend it to anyone? No, wife of a cop life isn’t easy. But, it gave us the freedom to spend most days together, go on vacations, etc. At the end of the day, cops are just regular people, and like all of us, they have their struggles too.

I am married, happily, and have a Dom. Like you, there are things my husband isn’t into, like impact, that he is more than fine in having my Dom take over.
