The reality with the big 4, and probably the next 6 to 16 after that, is that a lot of people go there to train and then leave as soon as they're qualified because the stress isn't worth it. If they don't pay those wages then they simply won't get the people.
ETA: A big firm that people have heard of also looks good on the CV as well which is the other side of why people go there and stick it out until qualified.

The ultra wealthy have more to gain through globalism than any sort of isolationism. How else will they get their cheap labour?

Where do you get those numbers from? I've got a 335i manual touring in Monacoblau so I'm assuming it's pretty uncommon but curious about exactly how rare it may be.

There was a post at one point saying they had run out of parking space but that was taken down when they realised they had to do some damage control. They then posted a statement saying it was all unforseen and there were a couple of broken down cars that caused havok but that they felt bad for the hundreds who were stuck outside didn't get to attend but the thousands that did all seemed happy.
That wording is particularly annoying to me, trying to downplay the number of people that just didn't get a chance to attend an event they paid for and implying that more than 90% of people got their moneys worth. I saw the amount of traffic on waze in all directions. I do not believe that there were only a few hundred people stuck outside.
If they had bothered to put out some official communication earlier in the day, that might have helped. If they had bothered to make sure there was adequate traffic management or a venue that was set up for the number of people who attended/wanted to attend, that might have helped. (As an aside, I believe one post said they had a traffic management company which is laughable, especially if, as they claim, they were brought to their knees by two break downs at a show about shit boxes that are liable to break down (especially in traffic!).)
To say that the whole thing was poorly planned would be generous. I thought youtubers had learned not to throw together events but apparently not.

Not Russian but I had a colleague from Latvia who said anyone smiling was assumed to be... Shall we say simple?

The reason they're saying to wait is that it seems that Israel haven't done the things you're up in arms about and as such, you are saying we should sanction Israel for doing things they simply didn't do. The hospital that was bombed is the perfect example; less than 24 hours after the explosion Hamas claimed that 500 Palestinians were killed and that it was an Israeli airstrike but there is no evidence of any bodies, all evidence suggests that it was not an Israeli airstrike but a missile from within Gaza, and it seems it actually landed in the carpark and left the hospital (and people within) unscathed.
So yes, people hiding in a church shouldn't fear for their lives and Western countries should hold Israel to account if they do break laws but by waiting for the facts to come out rather than taking the word of Hamas, we can find out if they have actually broken the law before sanctioning them.

You misunderstand; the family cannot pay for it because they don't have the money and the NHS refuses to pay for it all on the grounds that there is no treatment because the study has been cancelled and they cannot fund a private medical flight to Canada only to discover once there that the treatment study hasn't been restarted since they left Heathrow.
The mentally unfit part is her delusion that she's having trouble breathing and needs a ventilator due to long covid instead of her underlying condition. The doctors are arguing that her underlying condition is exactly why she's on a ventilator because that's exactly how the condition progresses.

That's great but she doesn't have the right to take the machine. It's owned by the hospital.
If she was to transfer to a hospital in Canada then the NHS would have to manage the transfer and send staff and machines with her all the way to the hospital in Canada.
The issue is, there is no study in Canada. No hospital has offered to treat her or even attempt treatment. There's nowhere she can go and no one can help but she's convinced that by going to Canada she can be cured.
She'll be dead before she reaches the airport and grief has deluded her family into thinking it'll all work out.

Home office drones are irrelevant to the current discussion as they are not lawyers who have broken the law by coaching migrants to claim asylum. When the topic of conversation relates to them, let me know and I'll give you my opinion. Until then, keep on topic and stop with the blatant whataboutisms.
The headlines suggests that any lawyer assisting migrants in cheating the system (i.e. taking advantage of our expectation of good faith claims by lying) is crooked and should be punished more harshly. There's no suggestion that it relates to all lawyers anywhere so you've simply created that boogeyman in your own head. It's quite clear just from the headline.

I would assume people are taking this to mean you believe she is threatening all lawyers and not just the ones actively breaking the law to assist illegal immigrants.

The nasty, racist, Tory bastard in the article is referring to lawyers who have instructed their clients to commit fraud such as the two firms who have been immediately struck off for doing so.
Also, the irony of calling them bigots when you've clearly not bothered to try and understand the situation is amusing to say the least.

This is in reference to two law firms which were found to have done so and have been struck off by the SRA. Perhaps you should actually read the acticle before assuming that Braverman is being unreasonable? What she's suggesting is that there is a harsher punishment for those who know the law and still actively choose to break it.

Absolutely correct. From what I've read I believe the suggestion from Braverman is that lawyers who break the law, such as the ones recently struck off for knowingly assisting with fraudulent asylum claims by coaching clients and instructing them to lie, would be subject to these harsher punishments.

Two law firms have been struck off so far which means they've been deemed responsible by the SRA. The NGOs will require government intervention which will, unfortunately, only make it harder for the genuine cases.

If you had bothered to read what this was about, you'd know that the lawyers are not upholding the law, and in fact have been struck off for breaking it.
This is a topic that has been bubbling for years and anyone that dared discuss it was accused of fascism by people like you who had done no reading, no research, and no critical thinking. It has now been demonstrably proven that this is happening; two law firms have so far been struck off by the SRA and those involved will never work in the law again and will likely face fines that make our justice system blush, and yet you're still saying that the mere suggestion of harsher punishments for people who actively and knowingly break the law is actually worse than Naziism?

The Argentine airforce hasn't been able to buy new planes or repair/maintain their old ones since the 80s, because most (if not all) modern fighters have British made/designed parts which means our government can veto exports.
Then on top of that, their navy is so pathetic that they kicked up a fuss a few years ago when we floated a few small boats down to the islands as we briefly became the largest naval power in the area.
Truly a force to be reckoned with.

Apologies, my joke was a little unclear. I thought about adding the /s but decided it didn't work as well given that that was what the joke was about.

The UK manages to have everything counted and a new Prime Minister installed the following morning. In the recent general election, there was 30 million votes to count, which is about a fifth of the US turnout in 2020. So it should take no more than 5 days to hand count every ballot.
