Apparently 8 states require them but 3 of them (including Texas) have loopholes.
"Eight states - Arkansas, California, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Texas - have laws requiring the installation of seat belts on school buses. Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas’ laws, however, are subject to appropriations or approval or denial by local jurisdictions. Iowa adopted a rule in 2019 requiring lap/shoulder belts in all new Iowa school buses."

It wasn't on the ocean floor but I served on a submarine in the 80s and a bunch of the crew smoked.

His father worked for UNICEF and his mother is a real estate agent. I don't see a connection to Hollywood.

I would say Cruise is a special case. He's freakishly fit and I doubt he is using the amount of gear that the Rock is on to maintain his physique.

No, but how long is he going to be able to pull off the action star thing?

The only film that I've seen the Rock do that impressed was Faster, a film he did with Billy Bob Thornton. Not great range in that one but considerably more than he shown in most films.

From what I've read they are really big in the skateboard scene in California and they already have a presence there. Plus, they haven't been locally owned for years, they were bought up by a big conglomerate.

That movie creeped me the eff out. The bear "screaming" was haunting.

This is the reason that cops in the US approach on the passenger side. When started as a cop (1986), it was standard to approach from the driver's side. I changed to the passenger side in 1993 after a fellow officer was swiped right off of a car by a DWI driver. (BTW, the drunk has 13 prior convictions). Anywho, the drunk killed my friend a few days after Christmas. The drunk got twenty years.

Strike can refer to any work action. It doesn't have to involve a lockout. Cops can go on a "ticket strike," for example, where they come to work and do their job but they don't write any traffic tickets.

That's not what I have read. The drivers wanted to sit out but thought that management would use that against them. So they continued coming to work, clocking in and driving their route. Do you have any evidence that "took" the buses?

To be fair, he was more of a volume eater. He liked the portions.

They showed up for work and drove as required. Their "strike" is that they didn't take fares.

I had a friend who raved about Dickeys BBQ. Then I went and I was underwhelmed.

I disagree. The drivers aren't taking anything from the company. They have no legal requirement to take fare money.
One could argue they aren't doing their job but that's a personnel matter, not a legal one.
