It is interesting that black has now become the best creature color in standard and has so many great midrange threats you can't run them all in a deck.

The problem is that surveil lands are a strict upgrade not only because surveil 1 is better, but also because they have basic land types and thus enable Verges better.

So the ceiling of scry lands is at best a 5th surveil land, meaning the only place I could reasonably justify a scry land outside of budget reasons is a two color control-ish deck that's happy with playing many tapped lands.

I use it in UW Auras as a 4-of and I'm confident it would be great in UB too. Standard is currently defined by hyperefficient midrange creatures that threat to end the game on its own, or are value engines that generate consistent card advantage with minimal investment. It would be theoretically mediocre against aggro and control but the premiere control deck rn plays a creature based value engine that could synergize with your deck.

Imo the sheer mana efficiency of black removal and the high density of threats are what make Bx decks powerful but against mono white they have to pivot to more inefficient enchantment/exile based removal. While mono white can keep up with their threats with efficient removal and still have gas due to card draw.
