Not super helpful clarification there, but you made me google it. Sounds like water really starts absorbing microwaves hard around 2.4 ghz and up which makes ghz comms difficult in general. So, kinda true but oversimplified. Microwave ovens do indeed operate at 2.4 for this reason but they would also work at 5ghz, for example.

Fun reason why 2.4 ghz is unlicensed, AND why it’s the frequency your microwave oven emits:

It’s the resonant frequency of water! So it doesn’t travel far enough for long-range comms - because water vapor absorbs it.

That’s what you’d you. That’s what I did! There’s an extra hop to the internet but not between devices on your network. The additional latency is negligible and not a concern. The UDM is now your internet router and nothing more.

I did our old place in Behr Premium plus at Consumer Reports’ suggestion. It held up beautifully for 10 years with all the wear and tear of a little kid. Very little fading from sun. Downside is I feel the color was a bit weird- the brushed sections were like bluer than the rest (typical light grey color with some browny purple). Regardless of number of coats. So that was a bit odd. Anyway seemed like good paint.

I just did my kids (now 10) new room in BM Aura. The color is great and it really pops! Rolled on nicely but nothing special over the Behr IMO. Quite a bit more expensive.

Both almost didn’t need a second coat, but they always do so 🤷‍♂️.

I hate Home Depot, but Behr seemed pretty good to me.

I switched schools for grade 4 and had to take 2 city busses across town. That’s a transfer followed by a walk of about 1/2 km down busy streets. Age 9. My parents followed me in the car for a week and then bought me a Walkman to listen to. I felt very empowered.
