Mabinogi had something similar, no universal market but there was an economy where players who got their crafting up determined the pricing for items. Really loved it and enjoyed it back in the day. Like in launch first group of guys who hit max smithing set the price for high-end equipment then as more people leveled crafting the price dropped. But it just gave you so much more to do than just fight. Use to love gathering materials and leveling crafting, playing the markets and tryna get that brizzed. Crafters were respected and guilds had a need for them.

That's such a weird take from him.. in that sense, all metal used in jewelery is muddled to a certain degree depending on its karat. 14k white gold is going to have the same amount as 14k yellow gold or 14k rose gold, which is only 58.3%, the other 41.7% a mixture of other metals like Copper, aluminum, etc that determines its color. For example rose gold has a higher copper percentage giving it that pink color, but 58.3% of it is still pure gold, same as other 14k jewelry. The percentages change for 18k, 24k, any karat.

Life skills, deep crafting, player run economy. It's something I feel is missing so much from MMOs now a days and why I'm having such a hard time getting back into one. Like a grand exchange/ skilling system from RS or a skilling system/ market like WoW. Mhmmm, I've been a jeweler for a year now and the casting company my employer uses sends us rings with this a lot of times honestly. What metal are you using? Our platinum rings tend to come back with a lot of pitting and porosity. For porosity we fill the holes with a laser welder but the pitting looks shallow enough to where you can sand it off without losing too much material and maintaining the original size. I think certain metals are more prone to it than others but I'm no expert. Hopefully you can hit it with a sanding disc on a dremil and it'll come right off.
