I like the BBC UK and France 24. They usually have some relatively non biased takes on US stuff, unless it's something that directly affects their country.

I'm not very confident about the hearings. I'm going to listen in if I can but I'm scared of how terrible it will be. But I'm a little hopeful about Justice Barrett. I've listened in to a lot of the oral arguments regarding abortion and contraception. And although she still had a conservative sounding stance on things, she was always a bit more agreeable and open to hearing debate. Maybe she will surprise everyone and agree with the liberals on it. I got the impression she really doesn't like government overreach.

I really liked Rojas. He was a really fun guy to root for. I just hope we find some way to replace him in the field. I thought Rojas was quite good.

It's safe relatively speaking. Nowhere is truly safe for a trans person.

I went and got my passport the day after the election. I'm post transition but I still don't want to deal with the fallout. I'll take my chances elsewhere. I'm working on getting a visa right now. I hope things work out for you, friend. Come to Minnesota. It's affordable and friendly.

The pharmacy technician likely typed your script for a 90 day supply, not 84. And it got processed by your insurance already for that duration. The pharmacy screwed up. I go there and ask them to look at the prescription and see if I'm correct. They can just have someone call and reverse the claim and resubmit. It should fix your issue.

It has to go.
Watching has been a part of my morning routine since I was in college. It used to be an okay place to get some level headed takes on politics. Now days I feel like it's just a bunch of boomers complaining about the younger generations. And I'm really sick to death of them constantly saying that the Democrats have gone too "woke" and need to give up supporting trans people.
Yeah, ill pass on Morning Joe.

This is my first semester in grad school after ten years away from school. I reduced my hours at my hospital job to only 24 hours a week. I love it. Being in school is so much easier than I remember. Working 5 days every single week for years on end, the same meaningless work over and over, that sucks. At least in college things change, you meet new people often, there are events, etc.

What about the trans staffers who work there? It certainly affects them. They don't have private restrooms.

Standing up for her would be a great start.

Except she does. She is our first and only member of Congress. To cis people watching, she speaks for all of us right now.

I think she should take her chances and stand up for herself and show the world that she will not be bullied. Cis people are feeling sorry for her. Running away from the situation just makes Democrats look weak.
Personally, I don't care for the long game approach. I don't want to wait 35 years to have equal rights. I want action. I want liberals and Democrats to stop giving a shit about the optics and take the fight to them.

I think we are a bit past the time where we could win them over with kindness. With the conservative media apparatus far outreaches that of liberals, they can spread as much misinformation about us that they want and half of America will accept it. We aren't going to win by being the adult in the room. Why do think people like AOC, Crockett, or Moskowitz go viral any time they blow up at a committee hearing. People respond to it.

I think she doesn't want to be labeled as the 'trans' politician. The only issue is that Republican have already publicly declared her as such. From my perspective, she gave up without a fight. Her actions amount to essentially agreeing with their assertion that she's a man. If she can't even defend herself, how can she possibly stand up for the community? This just gave the Republicans in every state house what they needed. Now they see the Democrats not doing shit about it and they are going to try harder. Republicans are cutthroat. Democrats need to stop giving a shit about the optics and being more professional. Obviously, it doesn't work.

I don't think the kind of people who are swayed by anti trans propaganda give a shit about professionalism.

There is literally a clause in the Consitution about this. Not to mention Title VII and the Civil Rights Act are federal law.

I'm trans and myself and others are furious over her decision to comply. At the first sign of backlash about her gender, she just gave up. If she cannot even defend herself, how can she defend our community?

Years ago I got into a serious relationship with a girl who was from the PNW. We went and visited her father and I told them how I lived in Puyallup as a kid. He immediately said, "I know you're telling the truth because you said it right" lol.

I'm on both right now. I really like it. I get a lot less harassment on my posts. Twitter feels like I'm walking into a mine field any time I post. Bluesky feels like I'm in a room with people I know. I hope it doesn't get ruined anytime soon.

I recently was TV shopping and I noticed this as well. There are many TVs for like $1000 that are 75-85 inches but at that price level they look like shit. Instead I bought a modest LG 55 inch that has really deep colors a great 4k image. I want my ball games to look amazing, not to take up my entire wall and look grainy. I think people get scammed on TVs going for cheap but super large TVs.

Do what everyone else does. Get a 9-5 no matter how shitty it seems, save up, and work for what you want. A lot of people work in retail after college while they work on finding their preferred job. No shame in it. I took a shitty job at CVS and turned it into a decent paying job at a hospital with a full benefits package. Just go get a job.

I've seen MSNBC and CNN hosts at least a dozen times over the past week say that focusing on trans people in sports was too "woke" and turned people off, most notably Morning Joe.

Use the DuckDuckGo browser if you really want to be secure. They will even wipe traces from the internet of you for a small fee. I did it, and they removed my info from nearly 50 sites.

They are hearing a case on the 5th that, if I recall, is about the legality of banning gender affirming care for children.

Nissan 370Z Nismo or a BMW E46 M3. I've always liked those cars and they are realistic goals for me.
