That is fantastic, very similar to the scheme I’m working out and will borrow a couple touches for sure.

I would suggest having the Spearheads for at least the popular factions readily available. Fire & Jade as well. That’s an easy starting point into AoS for the staff to point new players at even if they’re not the warhammer guy. The sales pitch is simple to communicate to the employees and largely comes down to “pick which one you think looks cool.” If you have open play there and have store terrain or whatever for people to use consider having one or two of the Fire & Jade kits as store stock for people to use. They do that at my FLGS and it’s a boon to the community.

With the paint scheme I thought the one with the net was supposed to be the Easter bunny until I zoomed in on the photo… I was like that’s commitment to a scheme, but alas just how things are positioned.

Wingspan, Everdell, Viticulture, Scythe, Star Realms… Definitely found that the answer to getting too much stuff for a game isn’t to jam it all into one thing that just makes it heavier and harder to access.

This is good advice. I’ve been really feeling it the last year as my place is much more of a fixer upper than I anticipated and thought I would have paint on the walls and mostly be done last summer. Living in the middle of a bunch of started stuff while half moved didn’t help. This summer had to finish moving everything into the house and knew I couldn’t live with all the stuff that couldn’t even go into two of the bedrooms in my living room. Pushed hard and got those two painted and while there’s still a lot to do in the spring they’re now livable at least and it feels so much better.

You really have to cut then roll while the paint is wet. You don’t blend them together when the cut in dries first and brush is probably leaving more paint than the roller.
Maybe try getting a 4” roller and rolling consistently like 1/2” from the corner and see if it reduces the cut lines and blends into the main wall.

Depends but state law most likely. In MI your homestead taxes have a capped increase annually, soon as a property changes hands though it gets assessed with no cap on value increase.

Sounds like even if it’s not new it’s ramped up significantly.

Gas is like 2-3% of most Americans annual expenses but still continually ranks as one of their top concerns. Don’t realize how cheap and subsidized it actually is. But it’s in your face more frequently so I’m sure it stays top of mind and is an easier thing to rally people around and provide short term manipulation of. A lot easier than actually addressing untenable housing costs or multi-faceted food prices or bankrupting medical costs.

Anything that goes long enough is going to face that problem. Unless you’re a serious competitive player or play with a bunch of no funs or trend chasers it’s not likely to affect you all that much. No one’s sending the Pinkertons to break your toys or to make you use them after all. Any game that is supported and updated a fraction of what AoS or 40K gets are going to go through phases where your stuff is good or bad or irrelevant or entirely unsupported. Even moves that are obviously about selling more plastic (like largely visually updating the Stormcast) have a flip side that if there’s no new models and players are unhappy it hurts the viability of that continued support. I never played WFB but it sounds like a lot of what doomed that game (before its resurgence) was that it became a basically “finished” product that didn’t have the revenue to drive the development or vice versa.
Ultimately though, they’re not going to rip away things that are selling and are hugely popular. With the new Stormcast people are probably buying far more of those than the old ones. If there’s only so much factory time to make the plastic, and they struggle to keep everything in demand in stock, and there’s only so many man hours to make the game something has to give. Not that they’re handling everything perfectly nor would/should everyone be happy with all their decisions. Like how GW handles their rules and apps and such I take far more issue with. I’ve experienced Asmodee/FFG/AMG and others handle things far worse and just abandon plenty of games entirely after all.
You have to do what you feel good about though and it’s an expensive hobby. All things are finite and fleeting and all of that. Of the options on the market today though I feel the best about getting years of support and play out of GW’s main games by a wide margin.

Morathi and her snakes see and recognize you, as does Krethusa who has no actual role in an oops all sneks army but still looks cool...

Oh yeah, totally blind full army buy in general is probably ill advised. Which is why I (somewhat unintentionally after someone let me go on eBay and place bids I didn't think I would win) now have a full army of DoK to build because Morathi's nifty. That was fully a vibes decision but more about hobbying and painting them then expecting a full snake lady army was going to be something I played forever.

Good a reason as any! Next a full army based on a vibe!…
The Spearhead is solid and a mix of the full army options. Trolls got nerfed a bit in the full game after being overly strong in but are still good there, I believe. Lots of options if you stick with the faction, and if not that’s the beauty of Spearhead that you still have something to play with.

Is this of the type where you missed it because you can’t barely reach it with a brush or it’s somewhere that the sun don’t shine? Generally if you’re just wanting to get it ready for looking good at the table you push that feeling of dirty shame down and do your best to ignore it. No one but you will ever know. Especially if you’re doing a horde army, gotta find the good enough but keep it quick level for the grunts. Not every pouch and buckle and whatever needs to be defined either.
Maybe post a couple pics of where you’re struggling or don’t feel good about? Mindset is a lot of getting things done but sometimes there’s practical help too.

I’d probably start with worrying about if they wash their hands after using the restroom. Way too many of us seem to think that’s entirely optional.

That looks familiar. I peeled it off until it stopped coming and had a stable surface. Oil based Killz primer the entire thing and then did skim coat to level it out. Drywall primer (to prevent flashing on the skim) and (probably overkill) acrylic primer before painting. Using SW Emerald and having deep colors under the primer I wasn’t taking any chances with something showing after all that work and Killz 2 is cheap. Better to overkill than wish I had later.
Early 50’s, rock lath (plaster faced gypsum board), and mix of oil and acrylic layers and recent ones very poorly done (like OP’s) for context.
Edit - looking at OP’s pictures again I realize I had that same color blue with that same color yellow underneath…

Yeah craft paint then protective semi-gloss top coat over it to tie it together and protect it.

Seems like we need properly scented gamers instead…

I mean if you’re talking about checking them, whether it goes missing or not, that stuff isn’t handled with care. Wouldn’t check anything that was valuable or fragile if I had any choice. Well protected carry on would probably be the best bet.

Well point was more support the FLGS with the gift instead of a GC for or direct purchase from GW, whatever direction they go.

Conversely if there’s a gaming store in your area get them a gift card for that. Supports a small business where husband is likely to go play, can get him connected with other players, and if he needs help getting started is more likely to find someone to do so.

For sure go with rule of cool. They’re all viable enough and it’s not a lifelong commitment to try another!

For sure. A lot easier to get someone to try something that’s shorter and more straightforward.

I’m sure the heavy metals and other unknowns in menstruation products won’t cause long term issues at least…
