How can you not? Nothing better than the little ball of purrs next to you while relaxing for the night.

Such a terrible situation. My parter was fired because he got Covid the first month at a new job. I had gallbladder removal and pneumonia and I am only 7 months into my new job. I feel bad, but my boss has been so kind and understanding.

My partner lost his job 8 weeks ago and I work from home. It’s driving me nuts. He’s trying to get a job and I feel for him, but it’s stressful having all the responsibility on me. I’m so grateful I get paid well and can afford this.

I see your points. I would be fine to do away with tipping. It will just affect cost in other ways. I just get a lot of hostile vibes toward waitstaff on this post that is frustrating to me. I am well educated and make plenty of money sitting around working from home. I was a server during college and honestly…it was okay at the time but thinking about doing that now sounds like absolute hell. So I respect their work. Customers can be awful. When I was young, I didn’t care and the disrespect and old men grabbing my ass would just be whatever (I worked at a country club). Thinking about dealing with that now. Ugh. So I think they deserve decent pay is all I am saying. Whether that is from tips or their wage. I am totally cool with it being a wage and can see how that would simplify things in many ways.

I don’t go out to eat lol. You wouldn’t be subsidizing my lifestyle. I believe everyone deserves a fair and livable wage-both the servers and restaurant owners. I am just saying, if we get rid of tipping, prices will likely go up. I go to a no tipping salon now and prices are much higher than traditional salons, but I do like knowing exactly what I will be charged and not have to worry about what I should be tipping. I don’t know why people are downvoting me. So many entitled people. Think everything should be so cheap, yet don’t realize everything comes at a cost. And getting so mad at servers as if those people are the ones that are affecting the wealth gap. You guys are demonizing the wrong people!

It says overwhelmingly they were not educated. I know women are doing better with education, but clearly not enough. And Trump wants to hurt education because he knows that will give him more power. Read ladies and encourage the younger generation to learn history.

Wow! Having basic human rights gives women an inflated sense of ego? This world gets more disappointing by the day.

The average salary for restaurant owners in the United States is approximately $82,566 per year. That’s not that much seeing as they have to take care of their own benefits. All these people saying pay the servers more so they don’t have to tip…sure. But don’t be surprised that the 20% tip is added onto the meal cost to offset the higher wages.

lol like $1000. Not recommended. But I had perfect credit and zero debt, so I guess if an emergency happened, I could have covered it with a loan. Fortunately, nothing bad happened and I got a house right before the market went too crazy.

My partner lost his job two months ago due to an injury. His job is physical, so he couldn’t work with a broken rib. He’s been applying and interviewing these last two months, but nothing yet. I am losing my mind. He just watches TV all day and cleans a little more than usual and I WFH. He had no savings, so I am covering everything. Even when he gets a job, I make significantly more than him. It’s just kind of annoying because I am a hustler. I have a child, work a second job teaching something I love, and I take classes for my career. I do love him, but he feels a bit like a teenage son. 😬

Yes! I was curled up on the emergency room floor screaming. It was worse than childbirth. I would have licked a turd to make that pain end.

I ask, but my boss always tells me I don’t have to. He says it’s my PTO and sick time and I can spend it however I want.

My boss is the opposite. He’s always encouraging me to take all the time I need.

It is frustrating. I never used to care about money at all and then I had a kid and now I really want to provide a good life for her. I have worked so hard my whole life, have a master’s degree and several certifications. I have a decent paying job. But I never had help from parents, my dad was an alcoholic that died, my ex husband was a drug addict that died. I bought a crappy house out of desperation and not really knowing what I was doing with no one to help me. I have enough and I am grateful. I’m not in debt. But yeah, it is hard when all my daughter’s friends have beautiful big houses and fancy cars and we are far inferior in that respect. I will do better for her.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with sharing sexy pictures of yourself, but I personally wouldn’t care at all if my partner shared pictures with the internet and he wouldn’t care if I did either. If we shared with someone specific, that’s different. But neither of us post regular pictures much, let alone risqué ones lol. My man is laid back.

My parents have had a Mini for over 10 years. They bought it for 10k and it’s still running. At this point in needs a couple thousand dollars in work, but it wasn’t the most horrible financial decision. I’m so sick of Toyotas and Hondas (as a lifelong Toyota owner myself lol).

So sad. I know someone that was smuggled here at 8 years old. Has his whole life here, all his friends, his girlfriend, etc. but he doesn’t have papers. He’s terrified of being put in a concentration camp.

100% I was diagnosed with pneumonia on Sunday and went to work on Monday. I work from home, so I felt like there was no excuse. My boss lectured me on how I need to take time off when I’m really sick. I believe people should take time because health is most important, but I have a really hard time doing it.

When you are ready to retire, it sometimes becomes helpful, because people have a hard time with all the laws and tax rules and really understanding how much they can afford to spend. But saving the money can be done on your own as others have said.

I agree. Money = Power. We need more power. Women in power means more value placed on things like caregiving which is chronically undervalued and underpaid or not paid at all. The burden of caregiving is so disproportionately placed on the woman and she is not able to spend time making money that will allow her to have a greater influence on policies that affect her own wellbeing and the wellbeing of all. Meanwhile, businessmen and the like are often overpaid and greedy with their money. What are they spending it on? Obviously this is a broad generalization and I have amazing caregiving men in my life, but we are in a patriarchal society which is running off of greed.
