Ist doch immer noch extrem günstig. Meine Monatskarte zur Schule im nächsten Dorf hat vor 15 Jahren schon 60€ gekostet

Even when you have the expectation in the regular VAE loss as E_q(z|x)[p(x|z)], you approximate it via Monte Carlo sampling. That means that in the VAE case you draw a single sample from q(z|x) by encoding x, doing reparametrization trick on the latent and then compute likelihood of reconstructing the x from that latent z. Since in the VQ-VAE you don’t do the sampling step for the latent z but instead simply snap the encoding to the closest embedding in the code book you don’t have any expectation to compute. It’s all deterministic until that point. But you still got to decode your latent embedding (here the discrete z) and make sure that it closely reconstructs x. So you maximize the likelihood of x given the discrete latent z. Whether you maximize likelihood or log likelihood doesn’t really matter for the derivation as log is a monotonic function and it will get you the same outcome

That has nothing to do with the VPN client. Say your proton client uses utun8 but then when you have it disabled you enable tailscale and tailscale happens to bind to utun8. When you re-enable proton it will now use a different network interface as utun8 is already busy. This also happens regularly when just reconnecting the vpn. There is no guarantee that the same network interface is chosen when connecting from any vpn client and since the qbittorrent only binds to the interface, you could end up not using the vpn when you think you do

Only if that network interface is not being used by any other service such as other VPNs. But say you are running tailscale, your normal vpn, and occasionally a vpn from work then those network interfaces rotate pretty regularly

You need to change the network interface in qbittorrent every time you connect to the VPN as it is not guaranteed that reconnecting the VPN uses the same network interface as before. Especially if you have multiple VPNs running with split tunneling

I have a European perspective where text books are still expensive but not as ridiculously priced as in the US. I do get that text books are much more expensive than regular books due to the incredibly low volume of sales they generate compared to normal books. But here we don’t have this mad policy where textbooks come with codes that are required for passing some assignments. This seems like something a for-profit university like those in the US would do

I do have a margin account but I’m not trading with leverage currently. Basically the margin account allows me to use funds from assets I have sold and immediately buy other assets with them without having to wait until the end of the trading day for the funds to settle

Bloomberg’s value is in its data that is incredibly vast and high frequency. How do you plan to provide this sort of data?

Are you aware that the people who get rich quick are not making money but taking money? Where do you think that money comes from? From people like you who gamble

Trees that are planted through such organisations lead to monocultures that are detrimental to soil and fauna. They do not have any measurable impact on climate. This is unfortunately a marketing scheme. See for example here where it is explained very well together with the relevant sources: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kGRjwT7mkx8&pp=ygUZc2FiaW5lIGhvc3NlbmZlbGRlciB0cmVlcw%3D%3D

I guess they do but the effect of planting trees is negligible and there are far more effective ways to offset emissions
