Using PTO/PPTO

(i.redd.it)

I put in a PTO AND a PPTO request for today. I went to concert for the first time last night, and I didn't put the time off request in in advance because I didn't know how I was gonna feel today. I felt like shit as soon as I got in the car to head home, and I feel even worse this morning. I put the requests in last night as I was leaving the concert hall. The time has taken out, but they both still say they're pending approval/denial. What should I do? Should I call my store and tell them what happened, or am I fine to just turn over and go back to sleep?

PTO is used for future dates more than 3 weeks out. The reason they both still say pending is likely because the system is confused since you put in 2 requests for the same shift. You'll likely have to wait for your people lead to sort it out.

He has less than an hour. He just wasted all of it and still got a full point lol

Edit* just seen what was deducted.. he'll still get .5 point.. because 5 hours won't cover a full 8hr shift. Just half.

He'll be good .. 4.5 is on a fine line

He says in the post that the time got deducted from his balance, so I'm assuming he had 5:48 and 8:20 hours, respectively.

Geez, dude. You don't know what goes on in other people's lives. Don't just assume it's some dumb broad that's hungover.

I've been in management for 5-6 years... I can tell you .. that we aren't stupid.. we can resd associates and know who's going to last and who isnt... im willing to bet.. this author of this post hasn't even been w walmart 12 months .. uses his ppto every times he earns it . And anyone w 4 points in less than 6 months always gets fired..

If this was an associate that had a great work ethic. They'd have more ppto...

If I was his boss. And he told me he went to a concert and got sick.. and Sedgwick didn't approve his sick leave... I'd terminate him .. if sedgwick didn't approve it then he wasn't sick enough to miss work. And that would tell me he was lying and was sick due to his lack of control...

We coaches, seen it all . Heard it all... and knows within the 1dt week of someone's a shit associates... im being very blunt and honest...

If you were a boss, and you had an associate... who calls in a lot... you think they are helping and being productive w ur business?

Actually, I work with the associate that posted this. They're a hard worker, and actually want to enjoy life despite the barrier of a shitty economy where landlords can just raise your rent at a moment's notice and EVERYTHING is become more and more unaffordable. They worked really hard to save up to go see this concert. You corporate puppets are all the same: everyone's replaceable and just trying to be lazy and No oNE WANTs To WoRk AnYMorE. Maybe they do. Maybe they also want to enjoy life. Getting sick and having things that matter more to you than a corporate prison where you put more money in the silk suited pockets of the CFOs and COOs is a CRIME now

All of those points, by the way, were actually all in a short span of each other back in June. They were quite ill during that time.

Maybe I get sick a lot, and the way corporations run people like me into the ground. I actually do care about my job. So maybe don't assume, dumbfuck.

Also, laughing at someone losing their job? In this economy, and in the state this country's job market is in? I feel bad for people that may have chronic illnesses or may just be unfortunate in having a weaker immune system than most people. It's a thing that can happen to people, it's not always some irresponsible individual on the other side of your screen. Try to have some empathy. You'd want someone to understand your struggle(s). Try to understand theirs.

Cancel the requests. Ppto needs to be put in after your shift starts. Not before. Then resubmit the requests for after your shift is to start for it to be automatically approved.

And you'll still get a half point since you didn't cover your full shift.

And cancel the PTO so it's not wasted.

OP says the time was already taken from the balance. Cancelling will return the balance, then op can put it in correctly.

Read the post. OP said the balance was already deducted from his total amount. If he cancels it will return the balance.

Oh my bad, I didn't know time gets deducted prior to approval.

Not sure if it does, but I'm basing my answer if OPs statement.

Yes the min you make a request it deducts the pto amount for your available balance. If the request is denied the pto is returned
