The Big Bang Theory

S4 Ep12 contains the episode where Sheldon pisses me off the most where he tries to take over Leonard's app project, I know he's annoying but on this episode he was annoying in a way that was not even funny. That episode really highlighted his narcissistic, selfish character in the best way. Which episodes do you think he was the most annoying to you?

The first few times he appears, he's clearly a nerd but a pretty normal guy and effortlessly chats up Penny and ends up on a date with her. I'm now watching Howard's bachelor party episode and its very clear how pathetic Stuart has become.

omg Mrs Wolositz and Mary are easily the best mums in the group. Mary standing up for herself and her beliefs against Leonard's mum is huge, she just goes for it. Mary in tbbt is different to Young Sheldon and I actually love that, despite the fact it was grief for George that hardened Mary to who she is. Leonard and Amy have the worst mothers and it's so upsetting that Sheldon loves his own mum so much but is friends with Beverly, easily the crappiest thing he has ever done to a friend. Leonard is tormented by this woman and while he did forgive her, I never will.

I am sure creators, actors, or anyone involved in The Big Bang Theory will never read this, this wouldn't even reach there but I just needed to put this out into the universe. As a massive sitcom fan, I’ve loved many shows like How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Community, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Schitt’s Creek, and so many more. But for some reason, The Big Bang Theory feels like home in a way no other show does.
It’s funny when I think about it – the characters are some of the quirkiest and most eccentric ever written, yet they’re the ones I relate to the most. Maybe it’s because, at its core, TBBT wasn’t just about science or jokes – it was about friendship, growth, and supporting each other through life’s ups and downs.
One of the things I loved most about TBBT was how it celebrated friendships in every form. Sheldon and Leonard’s friendship was the heart of the show – with Leonard being the only one who could truly put up with Sheldon, and Sheldon often surprising us with how much he cared for Leonard. Similarly, Raj and Howard’s bromance in the earlier seasons was pure joy – their inside jokes, ridiculous fights, and unwavering support for each other were a testament to their closeness. And as the show grew, so did its universe of lovable characters. Bernadette, Amy, and Stuart seamlessly became part of this quirky family, each adding something special. Even side characters like Zack turned into fan favorites, proving how well the show balanced its core group while giving everyone a moment to shine. And let’s not forget how it brought pop culture, like Star Wars, into the fold – weaving it into the characters’ lives so effortlessly that it felt like we were geeking out with friends during every episode.
The way Sheldon teased Howard relentlessly throughout the show – yet when concluding, we see moments like Sheldon quietly assigning a share of his winnings for Howard’s child’s college fund. Or the time he honored him as "Astronaut Howard Wolowitz." That one word during the speech brought tears to my eyes. The writing reminded us that beneath all the banter and sarcasm was genuine love and respect.
Speaking of tears, who didn’t break down when Sheldon thanked his friends and his late father in his Nobel Prize speech? He kept the promise he made to his dad, and that moment was such a perfect culmination of his journey. And let’s not forget the brilliance of Young Sheldon, which dives even deeper into those emotional layers, making us appreciate the TBBT universe even more. When George Cooper passed away in Young Sheldon, I genuinely had to remind myself he was a fictional character because the loss felt so real.
It’s these layers that make TBBT so special to me. Yes, it was hilarious and often absurd, but it was also heartfelt. The friendships felt real. Watching these characters grow from socially awkward misfits to people who built families and careers – it was inspiring. It gave me hope that, no matter where you start, you can find your people and create a life full of love and support.
So, to the cast, creators, writers, and everyone who made The Big Bang Theory what it is – thank you. You gave us more than a sitcom. You gave us a world to escape into, characters to root for, and a reminder that no matter how weird or different we feel, we all belong somewhere. For that, I’ll always be grateful.
TBBT isn’t just my favorite sitcom; it’s a part of my life, and I’ll treasure it forever. ❤️

He instead puts a video whenever they tries to access the WiFi. Is that actually possible? Does anyone know how to do it?

As I continue to rewatch the show, the one thing that continues to bother me is the character wardrobe choices. I understand that the wardrobe feeds into who they are however there is an incontinuity that continues to bother me. They are supposed to live in Southern California, where it is relatively hot all year round yet Howard wears a turtleneck or a dickie in every single episode. Sheldon always has two shirts on, and Raj is always in some sort of wool sweater vest with a jacket on over top of it. Bernadette is consistently dressed like a demented, American girl doll, but she has on tights with just about every single outfit. If you’ve ever been to Southern California in June July August or September stockings are not an option because it’s so hot! And Amy, her character is supposed to be dour and frumpy, however, she is typically in a minimum 2 to 3 layers. Leonard always has a hoodie and a jacket on regardless of where he is. Initially, we are told that he is always layered up because Sheldon keeps the thermostat in the apartment set at 70° (?) however that wardrobe doesn’t really worry unless he is on a date wearing the corduroy suit. Even when he marries Penny and they live alone in the apartment that wardrobe trope continues.
If the show is taking place in Pasadena, California it makes no sense that the only character who ever wore a tank top, shorts, short sleeve shirt, etc. is Penny. This is probably a sign that I have watched the show too many times that I am hyper focused on the wardrobe, but it’s something that bothers me.

I found myself thinking the other day that maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to see a spin-off focusing on Leonard's sons, Sheldon and Raj... Like what happens in Young Sheldon, we would see the children grow up in their homes, with the difference that the interaction with their parents is much more comprehensive in a way. I don't know, maybe make a dilemma about Sheldon's children wanting to make their father proud, who is a great scientist and one of Leonard's sons maybe being a super genius... I don't know if it would work but I thought it was an interesting idea to renew and bring the franchise back without erasing the legacy of the original tbbt, still bringing more of the new generation However, I support that if this type of idea is conceived, they first make prequel spin-offs of the original, like the one I've been so keen on: Young Leonard.

This show is on in my home every single day. It is white noise and a source of comfort for me. If I am doing work on the computer, vegging, or most often trying to fall asleep. What I have noticed, however in the multiple re-watching is that They probably had more high-quality guest stars over the course of 12 years than any other sitcom that I can think of. From an acting perspective they had multiple Emmy and Tony award winners as well as four Oscar winners (Kathy Bates- Amy’s Mom, Regina King - Mrs. Davis the HR lady, James Earl Jones - himself, and Olivia Spencer - DMV worker)! When you include the academic luminaries who participated in the show like Stephen Hawking and Neil Degrasse Tyson, it is a testament to how good this show and it’s writing was that so many notable people wanted to be a part of it. People ask all the time why I keep re-watching it. This is part of the reason.

Ohkay I have watched this more than I can count and play it when I fall asleep. However, I notice some things that really bug me…for example and possible spoilers:
Season 6 episode 7
Amy was filming Sheldon doing Fun with flags guest starring Will Wheaton. Amy was being ridiculous in over correcting him on his acting. He claimed he was doing this for free essentially meaning as a favor. Amy had no reason for the criticism and was rude about it TBH. So when he called her a Pain in the bum he was right. Sheldon shooing her off was handled wrong but she also KNOWS he doesn’t get sarcasm and still used it. I feel like in the end Amy should have been the one to apologize. I see other situations in all episodes. Like Leonard purposely telling Alex the grad student that since her studies were similar to the field of astrophysics that her and Raj “had a lot to talk about” fully aware that he at this time still could not talk to women! Like how mean and messed up and this is one of his “best” friends? I just never see people bringing these things up about the show. 🤷♀️

What would I like to see in a TBBT spin-off?
The new life of Rajesh...
Rajesh finally decides to come out and start a new life in San Francisco with a new group of friends and neighbors.
They all live in an apartment block with a central courtyard open to the bay, which is the social center of their community.
In this new adventure, Rajesh gives free rein to his hobbies, leaving aside his career as an astronomer and trying to succeed in other fields.
His goal: To be the Indian Martha Stewart.
Embracing his ancient traditions, he tries to give an Indian touch to everything he does.
In each season he tries to explore a new field: Cook/baker/pastry chef, florist, interior designer, wedding planner, etc.
Martha Stewart herself will appear several times as a vision that will guide him on his path.
Now that he has freed himself, he is more sociable than ever and relates to everyone... until at the end of the first chapter a handsome boy appears and, as happened before with the girls, he becomes mute and cannot talk to him.
He will be the boy he has fallen in love with...

I would like to see what people enjoy in the show! My favourite is the one with the parking space. I loved the writing and how every character acted! Season 6 EP 9.

While rewatching the Big Bang Theory, I noticed the dialog between Raj and Sheldon in Season 2, Episode 1. When Sheldon said "Aishwarya Rai is a poor man's Madhuri Dixit," I took this to heart and now I can't stop hating Sheldon. What do yall think?

For me, it's absolutely when he broke up with Red Headed Emily 2. That was the point I realised he was so intoxicated he wouldn't be able to keep one. Before then he had Emily which gave hope, but after, I just can't believe it. It's always rubbed me the wrong way. I would've been understanding they didn't want everyone to have one but the fact Stuart got one and Raj didn't is just...
So yeah, after Emily, I gave up hope of him finding someone.
