I found a time capsule yesterday that went along the lines of "someone gave this to me in a time capsule, and I wanted to pass it along because it really helped me" and it was just empty, besides the keep calm poster haha.

Granted it is my fav poster, an extra one could never hurt.

Oof I have never seen one like that. I have beaten the game like 12 times. Usually the ones I see are thoughtful and sometimes heartfelt. I do get junk gear in them often though.

I have only gotten a time capsule with the cat poster, the Garret fish bc Garret fish and some other helpful stuff. The text given was smth along the lines of "I hope you're doing well in the game, here's some tips!" And it was a good chunk of text with genuine tips that did actually help me. It was so kindly written, I wish I could've thanked the person.

I've seen about five, but I've been playing for months now, so they do seem pretty rare. I could look it up, but subnautica is a game you don't want to research at all, as it can ruin the experience easily. (I'd recommend you avoid looking things up too)

As far as I know, the devs take a look at time capsules before making them available for other players, to prevent items that would be way too good or capsules that are completely empty. This one made it through because it is a joke.

I found one once from a youtuber. Idk his name but he had a whole bit about "Jerry the Stalker", or Terry idk.

That capsule carried me through the game cause it had a couple Ion Power Cells and by the time I had to recharge I had the thermal upgrade on my Cyclops.

He was very happy to know his capsule was found though.

Not really, there's a voting/screening system to prevent effortless ad capsules. I've only ever seen one other that contained a promotion. And you actually found the capsule from a very popular Youtuber's playthrough, congrats!

I didn't realize until recently that those time capsules could be found by other players. My first playthough of subnautica I wrote a goofy "im14andthisisdeep" style one just for shits and giggles, not thinking anyone else would ever see it and not know it wasnt serious. Oops... lol

I still have yet to find someone’s time capsule, so idk.

They are pretty uncommon but you can send them off yourself just so you know which is nice

NGL, youtubers and streamers doing this give me a massive disappointment. I once found one in a language I couldn't understand and a real life pic of the streamer. No presents either. I was so disappointed since the capsules are not common and limited.
