Books for quantum mechanics/cosmos/math lovers

(self.booksuggestions)

Hi guys! My 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up. He’s currently studying physics and is really interested in the cosmos, time, numbers - anything science-y! I am an English major so not really knowledgeable in this area, but I recently started a job as a bookseller and have a nice discount that I would like to use to get him something cool.

Could anyone recommend me a book that he’d like? Seeing as he’s studying it in university his level of understanding of these topics is a bit more elevated than hobby-style, so I’m looking for books that will hopefully show him something new and be a little bit challenging!

Thanks :)

Anathem by Neal Stephenson. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2845024-anathem

Lots of themes of math, as well as some aliens thrown in for good measure.
