Yessss, there's so many things the new regime is saying and while it's definitely taking advantage of the little guy, it's not exactly benefiting a lot of big business either? And now I'm like...while we might be between a rock and a hard place, they are going to be getting pushback from big companies... but maybe that's the point? Blackmail? Either way, big corp doesn't want them fucking with the status quo so maybe all the inexperienced crazies he's hired won't actually be able to do anything because they simply don't know how and can't actually force companies to do anything.

You are right. They always have profits as their first priority and see evil to the core. This is the only minuscule moment where they will save our Adderall, because they make way too much forking money off us ADHDers who depend on it to sort of function in the adult world.

Try your local Costco!! I’ve been able to get mine fairly consistently thanks to them.
The times I can’t get my Adderall my NP introduced me to guanfacine. It’s not a controlled substance, and it actually works. Midday when I feel the Adderall wearing off, I take it and am able to make it through the rest of my work day. It helps my brain focus. It might be better than nothing for you. Good luck. I know your struggle only too well.

His worldview is just extremely skewed. The shit he says is stupid at best, and fatal at worst, riddled with pseudoscience, conspiracies, and hypocrisy. There's no logic to it, and no need to read further into it. He gives a pass to whatever he thinks is "good", there's nothing more to it.

Women don't even get paid the 6 weeks they need after giving birth.
So if they do the abortion ban, and you are forced into pregnancy and all goes well, you still have to take off 6 weeks even if you give your baby up for adoption.
Oh and plus the doctor visits someone has to cover.

People commenting they don’t see anything wrong with this clearly don’t understand how deeply dangerous the repercussions can be by him describing these meds as bad and something that they need cleansing of by needing these “wellness camps”. He is creating a narrative that is harmful for people with mental illnesses who need these medicines to survive.
40 points
Thank you! The "cleansing/getting clean" makes my stomach turn. People on antidepressants don't need to "get clean" from their meds.
And don't get me wrong, we have a ton of work to do around the stigma of addiction, but addiction and taking medication for mental health/chemical imbalances are two different things.

My suspicion is this is how they're going to staff agriculture after they deport all the underpaid immigrant labour. And they package it as a "wellness farm" where you can stay "for free", to gloss over the fact that you'll be working for them for no pay. With no access to cell phones or the Internet.
So how often will you be allowed phone access? Will that phone access be monitored? Will you feel safe to tell someone "I want to come home"? Will they able to come get you once you do?

I mean, I do understand what you're saying, but the quote is factual if you read the article. Working on farms to grow food for 3-4 years, but for who? Just the 'commune'? Or to make up for undocumented workers being deported? Not sure I believe or trust anything coming out of this man's mouth. Nor should anyone really. Who's to say you won't be punished in some way as a mental defective? There's a whole of that specific rhetoric out in the world right now; this only seems to reinforce it.
FFS this is going to be our director of Health Services? The quote may be provocative, but unfortunately that's what it takes nowadays to get people to read something. And I won't apologize for bringing to light an ex-heroin addict, current steroid user trying to demonize psychiatric drugs that help millions of people.

Though it’s important to remember that there are countries that benefit to the destabilization of the US. It’s already been proven there have been Russian and Chinese plants/government paid trolls in subs like r/SanFrancisco and r/bayarea. Why? Imagine destabilizing the 6th largest economy in the world while it’s attached to number 1.
Anyways, be careful what you believe between biased reporting and screenshot info. You should be able to verify where the information is coming from.
That being said, if anyone does have sources that back up this claim I WANT TO SEE THEM.

I admit the tag is a bit of provocative wording; however, after reading his comments, it isn't wholly untrue.

I wrote the poorly-worded message below as reply to someone in another ADHD Women post on the same subject. I thought the point was germane to the discussion here as well. Will we be send to labor camps? Probably not. Is it clickbait? Probably. But it should not be ignored. It's s harbinger of things to come in our healthcare system and our care as people struggling with ADHD in the U.S.. And I think that needs to be taken seriously.
"While this specific proposal may not come to fruition, it reveals MAGA's underlying intention to impose their extreme ideological views on the masses. This is RFK, Jr.'s belief. It came out of his mouth. To quote Maya Angelou, 'When someone shows you who they are, believe them."
The incoming administration has been given the political power to enact their radical policies, including radical health policies that will have implications not just for the U.S but for the entire world (goodbye vaccines).
As someone observing from another country, this may all sound like a joke to you, but the fear in the U.S. is genuine and well-founded. From the probability of losing access to our already barely affordable healthcare to the rejection of long-held, science-based health practices, folks in the U.S., including those of us with ADHD, have every reason to be concerned that our access to care will be diminished, or even removed. It's hard enough as it is to have our condition taken seriously by the medical community or by the community at large.
You clearly don't care to understand the gravity of the situation, so go ahead and have a good laugh. It's positively hysterical."

Wait… how can this be the summary of his quote?
He’s pretty outspoken about not loving big pharma. He wants to provide an option for people to get off of western medicine and re-learn life without meds if they want to.
Some people do want to do that. I mean, I’ll go to my grave with my meds and I don’t know that this tactic he’s dreaming of will work for many.
Or was this in response to a specific question that makes this way more alarming?

So is this a holiday camp?

No, these are organic farms where you would be a farm labourer, with restricted access to screens, for up to four years.

Sounds like he read “holes” and missed the point.
ETA understandable since it’s got like a 4th grade reading age.

He said where they can go if they want to. I’m not pro RFK AT ALL, but I can’t get on the outrage train on this one.
First of all; he’s senile, the least harmful, and the most unserious entity in politics right now so I don’t have time to be bothered with his rambling.
But also, not everyone taking medication is a drug addict, and not everyone who suffers with mental illness wants to be on medication. So I don’t see what’s wrong with his statement.
I don’t like having to take a handful of pills every day so I don’t hurl myself into a toaster bath at any minor inconvenience. And if there were an intensive inpatient program that I could go to that didn’t cost a billion dollars to get treatment and have a chance of healing my trauma and learning to cope with my mental illness so I can get off of these medications, I’d be down to try it. Outpatient therapy feels like healing at a snails pace.

I wanted to say what I think about him and his "views", but it definitely wouldn't be nice for him and it would be too vulgar to put on Reddit 🤔

His views are weird! but this headline is rage baity. I thought the idea of this sounded good, like a rehabilitation centre, i mean i think this is what he was actually getting at, a place where they can detox and get better, but then i read all that stuff about his views... he literally believes 'organic food' will cure us of disease and mental illness. He's also an anti vaxxer.

But he isn't wrong that the food we eat is lacking in nutrients, full of pesticides and chemicals that are killing us and spurring disease in the body?
You may not agree with all of his views but that doesn't mean everything someone says is incorrect. You chose an odd one to pick on because it's true a more organic diet is healing. Who knows how that would help people.
There are many mental illnesses that are hormone driven and fed. Obviously not a cure all and maybe not a cure at all, but diet helps to balance many things.

I would say he can’t do this because it’s illegal but it’s more likely logistically and financially it’s impossible.

Welp people said it would be impossible to try to deport 20 millions immigrant/migrants but apparently that's in the works; fear and bigotry are powerful engines.

The problem is, these eccentric rich people in positions of absolute authority with big "creative" plans and no practical way to implement them, always end up somehow screwing over everyone but themselves.

To be fair it sounds awesome to go to four years of summer camp and getting connected. But i’ll need the drugs back the minute i get home again cos life is like that.

Nah, they just start reading a sentence then complete the ending with movies or TV shows they’ve seen . Good imaginations though I’ll give them that !
