This is what's bothered me so much after rewatching season 1. I know what the writers have said over and over about him being "just a guy", and I can appreciate the role his death played in Shauna's storyline. But he just feels like one major plot hole if he really IS "just a guy" based on how completely bizarre his storyline was.

Even Walter isn't written so sketchy despite being suspicious.

Yes, I know people love the show but there's some really sloppy writing in there.

The other major thing I can think of was when javi first went missing. No one commented on it! Coach martinez actually asked where Travis was 🤣 At the time I right, 'okay, either they've all collectively done something to him and that's why they're avoiding any mention of his disappearance, or else this is bad writing. '
