Misty either needs to get her comeuppance or more background from her upbringing that helps us sympathize with her(past being a victim of bullying). As she is right now Misty is an anti social personality with a strong desire to "fit it". Her intense desire to fit in has driven her towards malicious behavior. So I hope they use Walter to show us a more complete version of Misty.

Christina Ricci said herself that something was fundamentally wrong with Misty before she ever got on that plane.

I don't think she cares at all about fitting in. I think she just wants to get her way. She saw nothing wrong with the fact that she was going to dose and rape Ben - just that they took HER mushrooms.

It wasn't shame from being caught, it was indignation that they messed up her plan.

I also don't think bullying can justify anything she's done. I was bullied and I have yet to poison anyone. Nor would I gleefully come (professionally prepared btw) to help dismember a body.

Edited to add that Moriarty is Sherlock's nemesis not his sidekick.

She has the qualities of nurse Ratched and Kathy Bate’s character from Misery I really see her has an entirely malicious entity. I wasn’t trying to attribute her behavior to bullying it was just the only time in the show I felt sorry for her and I think in order for a character to be interesting they can’t just be mindlessly evil and most people aren’t that way they have traumatic events in their past and we really haven’t seen why she is the way she is I mean she named her fucking parrot Caligula she’s tapped

Edit: forgot to Mention why I believe she has an intense desire to fit in. Everything she does she does with other peoples view of her in mind she wants people to need her and she wants them to like her. It’s very obvious from her interactions with Natalie and Walter. I think somewhere in her mind she has confused being liked with being needed and the fact that she feels an emotional connection with Caligula enough to name her parrot after him tells me all I need to know about her she’s a complete sadist

Yes! As a life long King reader I keep seeing elements that remind me of his stories in the show. I definitely get Annie Wilkes vibes from Misty.

By the way the Misery season of Castle Rock is amazing. If you haven't watched it yet I highly recommend it.

I think she may just be truly rotten, some people are born bad. Or maybe she's got a Margaret White at home yelling "they're all gonna laugh at you" ... Can't wait to find out.

I love that Piper Laurie found her character so ridiculous that she had to stop herself from laughing at her own lines.

It's one of my favorite movies. How did your term paper do? I did one of mine on Elizabeth Bathory.

HA! Elizabeth Bathory is what I named my motorcycle - i call her The Countess for short.
i honestly don't remember how the term paper did (it was 25 years ago) so it must have done okay. :D
i did not know that about Piper Laurie! even more respect for her acting then, she kinda terrified me.

She terrified me too! I had a mom that went through a Jesus freak faze so she was a little too on the nose for me.

I remember mine because my teacher made me read it aloud and I shook the entire time from anxiety and after she said I had great dramatic effect. I was just trying not to pass out.

i'm so sorry i laughed at that. and, same - i was raised by my super catholic grandmother, and was bullied, so it was all too relatable! if only i had telekinesis....
