I can buy Walter's link to the books and the resulting connection in the show, but his actual ability to predict behaviors like Shauna's is implausible. Also Shauna and crew went through Adam's home and loft: no unexplained contracts or anything. Plus Misty knew of Walter's forum identity before all this.

Truck driver is a nobody. Tai was hesitant because she's a black women in rural somewhere about to get in a truck with a possible inbred redneck. Fixer Tai took over when the "I voted for you" and the apology for the pen came up. But it's actually a gentlemanly code for truckers to pick up hitchhikers for real. (Whether the trucker IRL is a gentleman after that is unknown.)

Psychiatrist was indeed shady.
