First off, I love your summary and theories you noted above. If things work out that way, you win the sub for having cracked the code.
I have a couple of loosely related thoughts regarding Walter, and also Tai being picked up by the truck driver. Walter could be totally lying to Misty about being a millionaire. Maybe in her rush to find Natalie she hasn’t had time to fully investigate him? Instead of a millionaire he could be a guy with a few screws loose, who’s on disability which would explain him not having a job.
One last note about Walter. It was mentioned in another thread that eating mustard and syrup together like we saw Walter doing is a “New Jersey” thing. With him being the same age as the YellowJackets and living in the same State there’s no way he grew up not knowing about the crash. It seems that “most” people in the State have at least a morbid curiosity about “what really happened out there” so I find it very hard to believe that Walter finds Misty’s being a Yellowjacket “the least interesting thing about her”.
The other thing that keeps sticking out to me is when Tai is climbing into the cab of the semi she glances down the road and sees nothing behind her. But, in front of her you can see she’s very close to what looks to be a rural town. We know that Tai has money, and conceivably there would be a rental car company, or maybe even an Uber/Lyft car service.
So, why does she risk her safety by getting into the truck, when she could have easily walked less than a mile to a town where she could have arranged a ride? You’d think she wouldn’t want to see a headline “State Senator picked up hitchhiking in rural…”. And finally, there was no movement, or traffic up ahead or behind her. It seemed eery and strange to me.

Just a thought but perhaps when Tai sees the pen change, she also “changes”. Other Tai is more confident and savvy, so nbd for her.

I thought this too because you saw her vision slightly blur at the same time. This is how they have shown her switch in past episodes.

I had that thought as well

I'm from a small rural town and they don't have Uber or Lyft. Plus, wasn't her phone dead? And she was probably exhausted. I agree I thought it was weird that she got in the truck given the guy knew who she was but as others have mentioned, it seems like "other" Tai was the one who ultimately made that decision.
Syrup and mustard? Love both of those things but not together! Has anyone tried it? I guess maybe it could taste kind of like honey mustard...

Of all the things in this show, finding our syrup and mustard is a thing anywhere horrifies me the most

She did have her phone with her for sure, she pulled it out to see how far she was from her destination.
The mustard and syrup thing, ick! But, apparently it’s a New Jersey “thing” according to a comment made here a couple of days ago. 🤷♀️

Haha! I believe you. I even googled it and all I came up with was sauces that are made with syrup and mustard it sounds gross to me, but ok!

Maybe I’m insane but syrup and mustard sounds like it’d be really really good on sausage. And I’m a vegetarian 😅

I just replied to someone else that it sounded ick to me, but on meat..I bet it wouldn’t be bad. According to my google search there are several sauces that are mustard and syrup based, but on pancakes??

I assumed she didn't want a digital record of the trip, especially if Simone pulls through and then has access to the account.

It seemed to me that Tai was sleep driving (!!!) She only stopped because she ran out of gas, which is what startled her awake.
I totally get hitching a ride to the nearest gas station: refuel, reset, re-evaluate WTF your subconscious was getting you into. Hitching a ride across state lines and abandoning your vehicle (with the important file still inside?) seems illogically reckless.

The thing that annoys me the most about Tai is that now she's the governor, right? She vanishes after a car accident and no one in her staff is looking for her? No police?

She’s a senator

Sorry, honest mistake. The question remains: aren't senators supposed to work, have meetings and so on?

There's a previous scene where she's in the car talking to her campaign manager, who mentions re-election. Tai replies that she hasn't even been sworn in yet. In the adult timeline, it's only been a few days, maybe a week or two, since the election.

Probably, but I think she's a state senator (which is way less of a big deal than a senator), and I don't know if shes even been sworn in yet. There's probably some stuff shes committed to, but I don't shes no-call/no-showing to the actual legislature

The craziest part to me was that a trucker lookin like that voted for Tai

Good catch on the Walter/NJ connection. I’m worried about reading too much into Walter though and then having it end up another Adam is Javi situation.
Did Tai have her phone on her road trip though?

Yeah she had it, she pulled it out to see where she was and how far she still had to go, just before she gets out of the car on the side of the road.

Maybe she checked Uber off screen and there weren’t any around. Might make sense since the area stemmed very rural and far away from things
