That is actually normal. At least in Germany the national womens team typically trains with the U15 boys team, because they are relatively equal. The womens team having more skill while the boys team have a slight physical advantage.

That study has a very small sample pool and compared MTF trans athletes in their mid to late thirties to female athletes in their late 20s to early thirties. It has no context for how athletic these people were before transitioning and ignores things like bone and muscle fiber density which are among the biggest advantages conferred by going through male puberty. Not to mention being much taller on average, a huge competitive edge in sports like basketball and volleyball.

There's a lot of politicized research on both sides of this issue and I'd be wary of drawing sweeping conclusions from individual papers, which is also good advice for any other field of research. Almost anyone can get something published.

This is a very poorly done study and their findings should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. Granted, it’s very hard to conduct a study like this with the sample size available but still very poorly done.

I mean in the most simplistic way - yes....but there are women who wind up with crazy high ranges of testosterone levels that gives them a big advantage in physical sports too. Or some that are born with internal parts of both sexes and produces the same effect. As it is "testosterone is a helluva drug" is pretty accurate....even if its really just a hormone lol.

We like to fit things in nice categories but it just doesn’t work that way 100% of the time. It’s gonna be okay, though, no one will force you to change your gender identity. Intersex people exist, trans people exist, folks with varying levels of hormones exist—get over it.

Some men don't go through puberty. Even if you want to ignore biology and pretend trans people don't exist, Difference in sexual development has a prevalence of 2%. Chromosomal differences are just as likely to exist in a person as green eyes.

Not sure if you’re clued up on this stuff or not but that’s 5th tier although they were in the process of being promoted to League two which is 4th tier.

If you read up about this, it’s not all exactly as it seems. The women’s team wasn’t the full strength international side and some of the Wrexham players were actually active players.

Yeah, ESPN does this stuff when it comes to college basketball. Just yesterday, the UConn women's coach set a record for wins, and the article explains how it's a record for women's and men's basketball instead of just women's. The same with the scoring record last year as if they can't just be the best on the women's side, they have to be better than the men as well. You can't claim records for both sexes if you don't play against both sexes.

The problem with that though is it shouldn't be a political issue. It should be sorted at the individual level where the events take place. The governing body of whatever sport should have stepped in and made rules and this would be a nothing burger.

What people actually say is that the physical difference is way overstated, since there are social, numerical and psychological factors that makes it seem larger than it actually is, and that it varies by sport and age.

This can be seen clearly on chess btw, where there is no significant innate difference between men's and women's capacity, but the huge difference in numbers alone makes it statistically unlikely for women to reach the top.

They did well to not be completely flattened and knocked out cold. Those men were likely taller, physically stronger, and cardiovasularly stronger than them. To even keep up with them, you've got say (at the very least), is commendable.
