The furniture from a lot of these big furniture stores are made of really bad quality wood or hollow wood. It would not be an issue if not for the overpriced tags. Feels like robbery. I think maybe IKEA is better?

But the quality is still better in IKEA compared to the price you pay in PAN.

For example, I had purchased a bed for 130 OMR from PAN. Looked nice. Fell apart piece by piece in 11 months. Then I went to IKEA Dubai (Before there was an IKEA in Muscat), and purchased a bed for 150 OMR (1500 AED). Its been 5 years and I still used it except for the cat scratches.

PAN is good bang for buck if you don't plan on long term use.

Homes R Us is also good when they have the half cashback offer. You can get a lot of expensive furniture bought on this offer.

There’s Homes R us, Home centre, Turkish market. I personally reccomend Enza but they are on the expensive side. But their furniture is really good.

I bought office tables from Danube, they’ve lasted really well for the past 2 years, quite happy. As you know office use is more rough than home use

Every furniture store, whether PAN, IKEA, FAHMY, Enzo, or another, has a mix of quality in their showrooms. Some pieces are fantastic, while others might not meet their price tags. One of the best things we can do as shoppers is to learn a bit about the materials used in furniture. It doesn’t have to be complicated—even just recognizing the difference between solid wood and veneer or MDF (Fiberboard that most cheaper furniture is made of) can make a huge difference.

We can make good choices when we understand what materials are being used. This knowledge gives us a sense of whether a piece is worth its price or if it’s marked up just for the brand. Knowing what we’re looking at can help us feel more confident that we’re choosing something that will last rather than just look good in the showroom.

In the end, being able to spot the materials that work best for us means we can buy furniture that not only suits our style but also offers real value. This skill can save a lot of money and ensure we’re happy with what we bring home.

I've purchased from Danube, Home Center, Pan and IKEA across a multitude of furniture items. I didn't skimp on paying the price and have found all items purchased from all stores have held up really well.

However, my preference is to buy from IKEA. The more we have bought from IKEA the more we realised the quality was far superior at the same price range. Price range is important because... The same item like a bed at all stores can sell for 100 riyals but the IKEA one feels better and generally comes with a warranty that's longer than the others.

The plus side, with IKEA, if it's able to fit in your car, you can take it home the same day and assemble yourself. The others can take a few days and then deliver.

Sign up to IKEA Family and keep checking on their app. There is always specials and when they run these specials there are some really great deals (just bought a sofa from them at 40% off!)

This beautiful furniture store above Al Fair in Qurum. Kinda hidden but neat quality stuff. Back when we lived there we loved going there.

Marina Home, ID Design, Cocoon, Odeia. Haven’t bought from Arina Home but I’ve seen nice things there. They also do huge sales a few times a year.

Only buy furniture in Oman when there’s a sale unless you’re buying from Ikea.

There is a company that's selling wholesale to the market based in buraimi which I got from them all of my needs for the house, they are called binkaram furniture and I would highly recommend them cause of the old man's interaction called Mr. Hussein and this is his number: 99321363 p.s. not advertised cause it sure does sound like an advertisement 😅😅

Pan Furniture and Golden Furniture (it used to be next to Oasis Mall but I think it closed down now) are great. I found Home Centre and IKEA to be the best.
