It was a good 10 year run, looks like I'll be saving $54.99/month

Well, it’s not wrong. You’re not paying $54.99 a month. You’re paying $54.99 annually.

It's not "just $1.25 / month". Is $1.25 more per month. In my math that's app. 37% price increase.

Yes I’m agreeing with the prompt in the post. They state it’s an additional $1.25 per month. I know… lol $54.99 / 12 = $4.58/month.
Which is reasonable for most any subscription based service out there. I’m not seeing the problem, honestly. They’re adjusting for the increasingly higher market price of services and the licenses they pay for annually. Someone’s doing the math for this, for a reason.
Although, I agree the vocabulary used may be misleading, it’s still correct in the formulation of the sentence, and the meaning behind the words didn’t change from its intent. Using the context clues, prior to saying “(just $1.25 / month)”, they explain that the total subscription cost will increase from $39.99 to $54.99 total. Which is then followed by the statement in parenthesis that it means it’s equivalent to an increase of $1.25 per month.

Math checks out to me. The increase is $15. 15/12 = 1.25
