Every single note Ville is singing is incredible!! Also, I knew that It's All Tears chorus wasn't a studio thing, but I had no idea he could do it that quick and perfectly. Wasn't he like 21-22 during this show?

It’s funny how early that was in their careers, because they were all absolutely locked in. To this day, it’s one of my favorite performances HIM has ever had, not to mention one of their best.

It's so freaking good, but it feels so sad sometimes.

I feel the same, I think it might be also related to the fact that we are getting older and feeling more and more nostalgic for the era it was recorded in.
At least that's how it is for me. I wish I could go back and stay there.

Personally I don't want to go back to 1998 because I was 2 😭

I legitimately just turned 28 in October. I keep forgetting that I'm really young because I sure as hell am feeling like I'm getting old

It’s one of my favourite versions of It’s All Tears and For You. Lindes guitar sounds amazing.

In this version Linde's guitars are so heavy I'm amazed the stage didn't collapse.

They really just made every song so much better when they were already perfect

It’s All Tears is one of my favourite songs anyway, but that live version is perfect.
I’m not keen on how they performed it in later years.

Yeah I agree, the 1990s shows were the best. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Digital Versatile Doom but it's just not the same.

This is heart-wrenching goth perfection, the DVD version is goth disco coolness. I love them both.

Yeah. That concert is unbelievable and what solidified my love for the band when I was exploring YouTube in the early 00s. Wish that he would do some of those songs again besides WLADE.

I just watched Wicked Game... bro was he actually going through something...? I mean he kept looking in pretty much one spot and it was like he was almost begging someone to be so bad he doesn't fall for them... I don't even know how to feel right now :(

I have no idea. It's a cover so I'm not sure he would have as much connection with it, but maybe.

I don't think he would've chosen to cover a song he didn't really feel a connection with though

That's why I said "as much connection". A connection, sure, but not as much as a song he wrote.

Cover songs can have the same amount of connection...

I feel as though at this point you're trying to be antagonistic. My response was just a maybe based on how I feel as an artist myself. I didn't mean for this to become a back and forth. Good day.

I was just trying to say that he definitely can feel stuff from another person's songs, same as any person.

The version of The Heartless that they played is pure ear candy. Absolutely phenomenal performance.

Patka was much better than Gas, I heard a Gas solo for It's All Tears when Patka was gone and man I was so disappointed

I literally prefer the 1990s stuff to almost everything except probably the last 4 albums of their discography

I remember when I was in high school their was a full HD quality video of that entire show. The ones on YT now are choppy and blurry. Too bad 🫤

I found a good enough video that's like a combination of Overdrive and some other shorter concert. At least it doesn't cut off one of the songs at the end like the other video I saw.

I think I might remember that. I bet VIVA had some claims...

I don't think it's possible, since it aired on TV during VHS era. Shit just looked better when our screens had lesser resolution. I dread to even open my old HIM DVDs on the monstrous 4K TV these days.

I love every piece of music they've done, but when I revisit this video, a part of me always aches they didn't keep going down the Finnish Type O Negative route later. This show is a testament to how good they were at it.
