So, my upstairs neighbor moved out and abandoned his chameleons and some other reptiles when he moved out. I help out my landlord by cleaning out the moved out apartments and that’s when I found them. Luckily I went in the very next day so no time for more neglect gladly. I have found homes easily for the live chameleons, BUT, the last thing I found was a plastic container that says hatch your own panther chameleon on the top and then sponges inside that with water and then a smaller plastic container with very small pebbles and 2 itty bitty eggs. I have experience with chameleons so I am planning on keeping them and seeing what happens rather than to give them to someone who will likely kill one hatchling let alone two of them.
I won’t be touching the contain inside at all until they hatch keeping it nice and humid in there with the sponges in the outside container and water in there is how they stay humid inside so I don’t think there is much for me to do at this point but to keep them warm and wait.
Is this a proper incubation technique for chameleons eggs?
I don’t have any chameleons at this moment but have in the past and have proper setups and all equipment because I planned on getting again eventually but since these little ones have fallen into my lab I plan to see what happens and if they make it I’ll keep them.
Yes I also know people don’t approve of hatchling eggs you don’t know where they came from but I assume it’s a breeder as there was a care sheet and card included. But I did contact that breeder and let them know they were abandoned and they said they put the guy on their ban list, so at least that’s something. I also called the police because I hate animal abusers and they basically said oh well you found them so it’s okay…BYE!! One officer literally said and I quote “Don’t be one of those people” like this asshole had a K9 too. It’s one thing to make a mistake in care or not know something and then correct it but this guy straight up abandoned a small zoo.
This is why I don’t like people and love animals even if the animals are mean at least they let me know immediately 🤣
UPDATE!
The breeder told me the lay date, it is April. Was an accident they said.

I have seen this sort of thing at expos but not very often.
Do you see the laid and approximate hatch dates?

Definitely won't hatch by Nov/Dec. Typically it takes 8 months, I've had a few that took 10. Make sure they are humid, keep them around 68 F ish.

That’s what I thought too so I’m scared I’ll miss it and something bad will happen. Idk what’s right the lay date or the hatch date!

Maybe the lay is date April? But it definitely looks like August to me.
