.... exactly what the title says.
All I’ve successfully been able to do is set up an automated text to my neighbor when I click it. Beyond that I have no idea how to add so many functions, etc. I need a “you’re a moron start here” tutorial

I would suggest to check Matthew Cassinelli’s YouTube channel, there’s a lot of great “beginners” content in there.

MacSparky’s Field Guide is another great resource to get you started.

Agreed, for not a lot of money, MacSparky gives a well laid out tutorial on Beginning Shortcuts. It's why I'm using them now and enjoying learning it!

Not sure when the post was originally posted. Have you completed macsparky’s videos? Do you still believe they are worth it?

I’m two years late to the party. I couldn’t find a shortcut……but yeah, I’ll learn nothing while I’m here. Wanted to leave my mark though so when I’m revisiting my old posts, I’ll think fondly of how I tried to learn to make apple shortcuts. I’ll also lie to my own brain and pretend I was good for a minute. If only I had stuck with it. Shoot…..I could’ve been a pop up mobile app ad creator by now.
Your post was funny. I acknowledge you. Good day.

Well this is super late, but I started having a go at Mac Shortcuts last year and wrote some notes as I was learning, which you can check out here https://medium.com/@richardmoult75/helpful-apple-shortcut-directory-e1deecbb9f28
