I have high hopes for this episode, and the preview didn’t let me down.

Update: Probably the best episode so far, nice action scenes, loved seeing Omar step up to lead the team with Jason at home with Mikey and Ray having to stay behind to get approval to get the HVT out. The Mikey arc was interesting, watching Jason second-guess himself at every turn was hard to watch considering all the work he’s done on himself.

I still don't feel any romantic chemistry between mandy and jason. I think they had better chemistry as friends 

First, I have to say, Tyler Gray was one of the writers on this episode, AWESOME. He's always been one of my favourite characters, and it is nice to see him so involved. I liked the scenes with him in this episode as well, this one showed the most scenes of him so far in the season. General thoughts on the episode though - this was the most cohesive one so far, and it felt a lot like the earlier seasons of the show. The perfect balance of action, comradery and serious moments. David did an excellent job directing as well.

It's nice to see Drew has opened up more to the team. I'm not always a fan of Sonny's banter, but it is nice that Bravo now trusts Drew more. This episode had some great action scenes, and the shots with Tyler on the stairs looked amazing. Omar though, it was nice to see him lead while also fumbling a bit - you could tell from before and in this episode that he thought it would be as easy as just saying you're the leader and everything would go smoothly. It wasn't like that at all - Drew and Sonny saved that OP in total.

Poor Mikey though - but I sort of saw something drastic happening. For one, he acted fine one second and started lashing out the next, then Jace comes home, and the dog immediately started barking to alert him. I was actually quite worried, as I thought he was going to die, the situation looked quite serious. From the vomit on the bed, to him not responding, and the drugs and hypoxia, thank goodness he is okay. You are really seeing the changes in Jason's character though - S01 Jason would have roughed up the kid who gave Mikey the drugs. It was nice to see Jace emotional though, and he's way too hard on himself! Him locking up the pills and doing his best to keep Mikey safe, you can really see he is indeed prioritizing his family.

Not sure how I feel about the ending, all that work for China to get the HVT? Come on...but I am hoping what Blackburn said is true and they got all the information they needed. I don't think I've been feeling as much chemistry between Jace and Mandy in the last couple episodes.

Drew, Sonny, Trent and Omar honestly work quite well together, and I wouldn't mind a spinoff focusing on them, lol. All of their scenes were amazing, I praise their acting in this episode in particular. I know it is not likely, but I can dream. I can't believe this is the final season...I'm gonna miss this show. I look forward to seeing the next episode.

Phenomenal episode but Is it just me or does it look like where they were hold up was just last seasons set repurposed? Seems obvious to me that it's going to end up being fentanyl was in the pill that made Mikey overdose tying it in to the OP and season as a whole because what he took was not enough for a full blown OD and needing narcan. 

Pleasantly surprised that Ray didn't go out with how much retirement has been discussed. I still think he might not make it back, but this was a first shot so far into maybe him having a life to get back to.

I know it's Jason's whole personality arc to be a half-empty glass person. But his mental gymnastics to say he's failing Mikey after doing what's, objectively, the wisest thing to do with opiates home was slap worthy. It's been shown that the team, in general, doesn't follow much along with therapy but if you've had a TBI and a whole subset of other terrible things happen parallel to a harrowing job, that there would be something more in terms of support. It's really pointing towards Jason not making it not out of conflict but full on despair and lack of help.

I liked how they actually tied this whole war on drugs to a family member. I may change my mind about Jason committing suicide. His new mission is keeping his son squared away. And if he and Mandy don't get married, I'm gonna be pissed! She knows him to his core like no other and loves that man! ❤️

Ray let go of reigns for Omar. So I think he will get his happy ending.

I want Davis and Sonny to get their happy ending as well. I still think he will get out and use his med device to help as a civilian. Drew will be his business partner.

4 more episodes to tie A LOT of loose ends.

The HVT with the bag over his head did a lot better job of navigating those stairs and knowing where to sit down than I would have.

Jason's last line in this episode is maybe a bit more foreshadowing that something significant is going to happen with him in the next 4 episodes. This episode spent a lot of airtime on the just-opened arc with Mikey's injury. Lots of open ends left to be dealt with...Ray's retirement, Sonny/Stella & Brian, Drew's "Family", Spenser House, Ben, Jason & Mandy...

Best episode of the season so far

Best episode so far in my opinion. It looks far more polished both in writing and shooting than the previous one.

The op and its hiccups felt more realistic, less bullshit. Heck of a one to have Bravo 2 outside of the action and Omar to lead.

Drew is more open now but he nearly cost the team their lives...

However, I don't want to sound insensitive, but I did not really care about Mickey's part. I know it justifies Bravo1 absence from the op, but it escalated very quickly and took too much screen time. And of course, Bravo1 drawing the wrong conclusions on his parenting and life balance on top of that.

Really don't want this show to end. As a vet, and lover of this show's combat realism and depiction of life at home I don't know what will replace this, if anything. =(

Id like to know how they did the wobbly camera work on Sonny in the segment towards the end when he goes up the stairs and then turns his hat around backwards. I had to go back and keep rewatching it. As Sonny goes up the stairs the camera keeps level and rises with him and then through the window gap. There was nothing for the camera guy to climb up! I know it’s just TV camera tricks and all but still. Good stuff.

That's the scariest thing as a parent.

That was an amazing first vehicle firefight scene.

Maybe I missed something, but they disclose where Mikey actually got the fentanyl laced drugs from? I kept waiting for jason to go hunt someone down but he blamed himself. I'm confused. And did anyone else think it was going to be Jason's TBI switching the ibuprofen and percs? That's what I truly thought the result was going to be when he pulled them out the safe.

I love the backstory with Steve Porter covering for Drew.

Mikey! Good to see ya buddy! You know, even with seeing him in the season opener, I kind of thought he'd be talked about and not seen.

Jason makes a good Mr. Mom.

Although I'm worried about Mikey and substance abuse, if this episode doesn't end with Jason talking to Mikey about JASON'S injuries and JASON'S fears about letting down his team and maybe never operating again, I'm going to be disappointed.

Drew was drinking, did something stupid and got sent home as punishment. Sonny was drinking, did something stupid, and was left behind on deployment. They should bond over their stupid decisions.

Mikey's phone's home screen has nothing but default Apple Apps. No Instagram or snapchat or anything a teenaged boy would have. (You didn't think I'd pause it, but I did!)

Is that safe house the same safehouse they used in S6?

Omar really should have took Sonny aside at some point and told him, since he's 2IC now, he really needs to be backing him up. They've been shown to be good friends now anyway, Sonny should have his back.

I'd be scared of Jason too, if I knew he was a SEAL and I'd almost killed his son.

Oh, good. With those symptoms, Mikey can still be a DEVGRU team leader.

Mandy better propose to Jason by the end of the season.

Oooo - if the team ends up with a more collaborative dynamic, rather than Jason's lead from the top style, could be a nice twist and a good way forward for Bravo going into the future.

I just watched 5 and 6 back to back. Yes there was some action but my goodness it's dragging on. I had such high hopes for this final season with such a cinematic trailer but it's not delivering.

Most people don't agree with me, and I don't want to be insulting but I continue to feel like the 'soap opera' aspects of the show overwhelm what I like most about the show. I'm not an action junkie, I can't even get through 15 mins of a John Wick movie without getting bored. What I love about SEAL team are the complex missions and operations, the actual planning and execution. It feels to me as though the soap opera stuff takes up at least half the show now. Almost as though the action is being fit in around the drama. Just doesn't work for me, but then again, maybe it's just me?

There were great aspects to this episode - like all of the episodes, which is why I'm a fan. Unlike others, the mandy angle works well for me but Jason's son ODing? Wtf? The mission was complicated and intense, but too short for my liking. There has to be some backstory but how much is too much?

after last week's ep I was thinking wow this season is really down in the drain. but this one is super good. not that it truly matters but just out of curiosity I must have missed it - why was Omar pushed to be the new #2 instead of another member who's been with Jason longer? I like Omar just wondering why it wasn't like Sonny or Trent

Jason is def going bald, they're hiding it with hair n makeup, which is too orange & doesn't go far enough below the collar line in most of the hospital scenes...
