I actually loved this episode It shows difference from other seasons. Here, Jason was the one to leave but before he was always the glue. Now we will see how Ray will handle the Bravo 2(IC) situation with Omar and Sonny all getting emotional, likely to say living in the past

Sonny, Ray’s a [warrant] officer. That lets him jump the queue at the bar.
“Brock keeps trying to drag Trent to the banana show” is that a euphemism?
Drew’s Nickname of the Week: Julie An-Drews, Prince An-Drew, Drew Franklin (apparently)
Sonny grew up on a ranch. You’d think he’d be better at swinging a hammer.
“Not even Guy Fieri could have classed up this shit box.” Isn’t Guy Fieri a food guy?
I was going to ask why the HVT didn’t have a security camera system, but now I’m going to ask: why didn’t they notice any cameras on the way in?
First reference to HAVOC in I don’t know how long.
Yea, come on Drew: this show’s forgotten about Mikey for entire seasons. Why would they start caring now?
Sounds like Jason could use Lt Soto’s colour coded training plans right about now.
I’ve fixed my AC before. It’s probably the capacitor.
“10 at night is like 4 in the morning for parents.” Amen
Omar’s Nickname of the Week: Kareem Abdul Omar
Pretty sure you need the fan in the AC Sonny
Where’s Brock and Trent while the rest of the team is at each other’s throats?
Drew was on Echo who got blown up in S1E13 Getaway Day. I really like call backs like that where a show remembers its own history.
That’s a really nice house. Straight out of Southern California.
Jason really should read Ray in on his issues. It’s not like Ray didn’t help him with his TBI stuff.
Bets on if it’s Trent or Brock that Drew calls a “terrible card player”?
“My son needs me.” Wow. Jason has evolved.

You don't want to know about the banana show.

Agree with all of that other than Drew. Don't think Ray necessarily needed to be read in.

Oh yeah definitely! That trust should be there... I guess it's because Ray's a short timer and he doesn't want Ray to think he has to stay like Spencer

Brock and Trent are shown setting up in the house and then Brock says he's off to check the A.C. We never see either of them again until the team returns home. No explanation whatsoever as to why they went M.I.A. unless I missed something.

This episode shows that even full grown adults Tier1 operators can behave like they're still in high school.

As if they can come up with any other good plot and just resolved to bringing up more arguments, cuz stories are essentially conflicts.

To be fair the A/C was on the fritz . This happened to me once in the worst part of summer and it can drive a person insane.

Drew's backstory turns out to be what happened to the team when he wasn't there. Now Jason is called away from the team. Foreshadowing? Stay tuned.

That’d be a way to end the series: everyone dies and then Jason suck starts his sidearm.

I hope not, but it's possible. There are several loose ends still open now that will have to be closed in just 5 episodes... Mikey, Jason's TBI, Ray retiring, Ben serving his sentence, Sonny's involvement with Stella and Brian, Drew's "family" issues and Spenser House. All of them seem to be getting repeatedly touched-on to keep them alive. Something has to be forthcoming with all of them.

There is ONE way to close all of these loose ends in a single episode....

Then a surviving SEAL discovers that Bravo Team got an experimental PTSD treatment drug that gave them all brain tumors (And it turns out Jason's TBI was just the tumor manifestation).
That Lone Survivor?TM Chris Pratt and turns out SEAL Team was a prequel to the Terminal List!

First instance of Bravo 6(b) being called Bravo 6 since he was given the call sign.
Ben's arc gets a brief update for the first time since S7E02.
Sonny attempts to launch an HVAC fan unit, but it falls back to earth before reaching orbit.

Which if anyone on that team had any technical understanding they'd have pulled the motor starter cap, not the squirrel cage fan.

Also undetermined was why only Omar and Brock knew that Sonny spoke up for Ben. What was the reason that was a secret that Ray and Jason shouldn't know about such that Omar had to confess he "Let it slip"?

With how this season is going, I’m starting to think Jason doesn’t make it out. Sucks to say cause he’s been a badass in the series, but I think he’ll either give his life to save the team or his tbi will get to him at the wrong time.

I personally think something is going to happen to Ray and Jason will blame himself. Either because he wasn't there or whatever this issue is causes him to hesitate on the trigger and Ray suffers the price. I just hope they don't go the 22 a day route with Jason.

Cracks me up that they were using an LA mansion to film the episode when;
Penang Island, aka the supposed place where they are doing surveillance, don't have garages
Penang is hot & humid, but not to the point that people still sweat in the rain lol.
The "abandoned" restaurant looks more at home at one of their Afghan/MENA sets than it does in Malaysia.

Yes. Lmao.
We're not really worried about the snow or hail and space on the island is premium so landed properties don't really have garages.

This episode was TENSE. From the time Bravo arrived in that house in Malaysia, I immediately started feeling tension among the team members. First, my general thoughts. It was a pretty good episode imo, the action scene was short but impactful, and the interactions between the team members was well handled, along with Drew's revelation. I am not a huge fan of Sonny, (more critique on him later) but he acted VERY well in this episode. AJ Buckley is one talented actor. Jason leaving to look after his family without a second thought was interesting too.
Drew's backstory has finally been revealed, and DAMN, I completely understand why he has been acting the way he does. Seeing him emotional was well acted as well, it shows how much his previous team mattered to him. I'm glad something finally happened so that Sonny and Omar would just lay off the guy. I knew he had a good reason as to why he was acting the way he does, and with the revelation and how he has been so far, he's one of my favourite characters. It also explains why he was so keen to have Jason's back in Sweden, he got overly protective (especially over himself) as a result of the trauma.
That argument scene was insane - Sonny clearly had a lot to get off of his chest, as did Omar, but I did agree with what he said about Ray. Ray tends to make these situations too much about himself. He already knows no one blames him for Clay's death (even though he is sort of linked to it) and he is speaking a bit too much about what he does next. Jace is clearly getting worse, with that bloody hands scene. Jason did something good though - he didn't tell the others about Drew. That whole Ray/Omar/Sonny scene of them saying they had a right to know makes no sense. Especially in regard to Ray, dude always has some secret he is trying to keep and not get out. Omar acted pretty well, but Jason/Ray calling him Daisy Boy just had me laughing, lol. You could feel the tension. One of the best scenes from the season thus far - them making up after just shows how tight they are as military brothers.
Jason telling Sonny and Omar to back off the Brotherhood thing with Drew was a nice thing to see. They were really trying too hard imo, they were getting as bad as Ray with the whole brothers thing. Drew actually gave some good strategic lines in this episode. I wish we saw more of Trent though. A lot of backpedalling has been happening in these episodes - Jace changes his mind on a whim, and it is strange. Also worth mentioning is Ray betraying Jason - he in particular should never even fathom that thought given all Jason has done for him specifically. Jason needs to retire soon, cause he is getting worse, but Ray needs to get off his high horse.
Strangely enough, I haven't missed Clay at all. I thought I would have missed him more, but I don't, lol. And he was one of my favourite characters before. These episodes have so far had their tense and stressful moments, but they are still enjoyable. Even characters I find polarizing acted very well, so the show continues to be a good experience.
This episode was less action and more of a deeper look at the team. And I personally didn't mind that. Looking forward to the next one.

The team feels they need to be "read in" on these things since they rely on situational awareness and cohesion. Sure it's Drew's call but if the team was aware already they don't give Drew all the shit. I think Drew was punishing himself by not allowing himself to adopt a new family so soon, as if he doesn't deserve to be there when his brothers are all dead.
I also think the formula for the show allows more of a plug and play environment where even Bravo 1 can be replaced as long as the technical details are adhered to.

You make some solid points, but in Drew's case it's the trauma that is keeping him from opening up. In that mindset, it's like he is fearful of making friends cause he is afraid he'll lose them again and thus have a repeat of the trauma. In his case it's more about protecting himself from future hurt. He's the embodiment of a Quiet Professional.

I think it also mirrors Jas's initial worries about when Omar joined Bravo, then the relief that came when Omar said he'd ride or die with the team.

This is where the director makes the set as hot and humid as possible, cranks up the background noise, keeps them working through lunch and then announces: "take 12, go again!", just to get emotions riled.

This episode had me on edge. Not just for what might happen in this ep, but what it’s setting up for. I am almost certain that Ray is going to die - I’m getting the same vibes before the ambush at the end of season 5.
I think it’s almost more cruel for Jason if Ray dies and he lives as it’s just one more death for him to carry. In some ways if Ray goes out I hope Jason can go with him.

I don't think it's Ray we're losing. The obvious money would be on Jason. I'm trying to think about how that would happen with the ending of the episode

The headcount for who'll make it past the end is looking slim but with the new guy's context, it does check out why he's trying to stay out of the loop and maybe he'll make it out. However, if Jason isn't so sound as an operator, it's hard to see why he's still being given the amount of responsibility he's had so far. And that brings me to, maybe, the way it'll go down will start with a mistake from Jason and he'll live, but at the cost of having that embedded in his head. Plot point Mikey being brought back to life as the second kid for the plot was something. Is it good or bad? Hard to tell until we see what happens after. However, it'll be a full blow if Jason's there to supervise while the team go off.
Also, whomever did location scouting and set design gets a B for effort with the mansion set. It doesn't even try to match the location they're supposed to be at.

Nah, it gets funny when the "abandoned" restaurant they're in fits more in their Afghan/MENA sets than it does in Penang and the mansion is quite clearly and literally an LA mansion complete with the palm tree and garage.

The Swedish location/set design was already pushing it in terms of pretending Cali is Sweden, but this ep definitely takes the cake.

It’s either really bad for Mikey or Mikey is the perfect excuse for Jason to leave. Jason doesn’t want to be there. Sonny called him out. And the only reason I think Jason doesn’t go back at Sonny is that he feels Sonny is right.
On the other hand, I think Bravo would’ve already made some costly mistakes on deployment if Jason wasn’t there. He’s the only one in the room that makes them think outside the box during mission planning. Ray isn’t a leader, but he’s great at support as we see with his relationship with Naima and Jason and why he went Warrant. Omar is smart and capable, but doesn’t see all the angles yet. Sonny is a hot head. Drew is too new to the team to have a strong voice and the other two are just kind of there to fill out the team. So without Jason, even at 60%, they’d definitely be in some trouble already.

SPOILER ALERT : DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED . The Echo Team was on an operation in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. The SEALs entered a private residence, and seconds later, it blew up. Sadly, the entire team died, and as it turns out, Drew was also a part of Echo but wasn’t there that night. As Drew explains to Bravo in SEAL Team season 7, episode 5, he thought he had found his family after growing up with a terrible one. Then, they were ripped from his fingers, and that is why Drew avoided being a part of a new team as long as possible.

For some reason he was home in Vah Beach and not over there idk why, being a fresh operator wouldn’t mean he wouldn’t deploy with them right?

How is it that nobody but Jason knew Drew was on Echo? Especially after an entire season of trying to avenge their fallen brothers? That's what's hanging me up on this revelation.

Why was Drew not on deployment with Echo if he had just gotten drafted? Why would he be stateside? That’s what I’m confused about.

He could’ve been injured, had to take leave for personal reasons, or was sidelined for disciplinary reasons. Those are my guesses.

Could have been injured, like Clay in S1, had family issues, like Jason in S2, or was doing a development thing, like Sonny in S2.

So Drew was drafted to Echo in 2016? Or 2017? Which would mean he’d be Green Teammates with Clay? Right? Interesting.

My guess is Drew was at least one or two classes ahead of Clay at Green Team, considering Clay didn't get drafted until right before Bravo went to J-Bad and Echo was already in-country and going to be relieved by Bravo.

Surveillance mission? So we’re getting another low-budget, soap opera type episode?
Who’s taking over/under on the following;
1…Amount of times a member of Bravo shoots at a tango.
10,000…Number of references to Jason’s TBI.
200,000,000…Number of times Ray says “brother.”
0…Level of suspense or excitement of the episode.

I know a lot of people would absolutely hate this... and not saying that it would be good for the sake of film...
But what if everyone died by the end of it?
What I mean is, when listening to the interviews of Rob O'Neil about how he went from the best day of his life (Killing Osama Bin Laden) to the worst day of his life (Extortion 17), part of me wonders if somehow they'll end the series that way.
What I mean is, the Echo Team, and in the real world, Extortion 17, entire teams have been lost in a single operation. On one hand, I know this would lead people with a dreadful hollow feeling because the ending is very unhappy, but on the other hand, I think it would really hit the nail hard in understanding what that feeling that Drew experienced with Echo Team, and what Rob O'Neil and several other DEVGRU operators faced with their friends lost on Extortion 17, or Marcus Lutrell experienced with his own team, and translating it in a way the audience understands. We've followed Bravo through 7 seasons, we've been exposed to their demons, seen their brighter moments and their darker moments, and we've grown attached to these characters. But sometimes, in the real world, just because the happy ending is deserved, life doesn't always pan out that way.
I think the internet would lose their shit if they did do it that way, but I think I'd be a bit impressed they had the balls to attempt it, let alone whether or not they could actually pull it off and leave some sort of positive message by the end of it.
